I think I would use invisible or white thread.

Kate01 05-02-2011 03:26 PM

RED!!!!

Kappy 05-02-2011 03:47 PM

I think white or invisable thread in the large white squares. I think using a color might detract from how very elegant the quilt is. And the rest of it, which ever your muse says to use! Just my opinion. It is a beautiful quilt.

skydiver70 05-02-2011 03:48 PM

Another beautiful item! Wow!

MyWifeMadeME 05-02-2011 03:50 PM

Red! And it's beautiful!

Rose Bagwell 05-02-2011 04:00 PM

What is the color of your backing ? I would use red if it will show up on the back.

Taughtby Grandma 05-02-2011 04:32 PM

What a beautiful quilt. I found a remnant of the red flower/black fabric, just enough to make a vest, I quilted it in red.

matraina 05-02-2011 04:41 PM

I was interested, too, so I really browsed the Internet. The only one I could find exactly like Riversong's was at this site:

http://www.eleanorburns.com/shoponli...s_display.asp?

It's in a book for $20.96. I won't be ordering it. The one called "Autumn Tints" is not like hers.

glenda5253 05-02-2011 05:01 PM

I would be concerned red or black would take away from the contrast of the fabrics you have going on. Lovely quilt!

gypsylady5 05-02-2011 05:02 PM

I'd use white or an invisible thread.

CAS49OR 05-02-2011 06:23 PM

I think a multi-thread that includes black and red would be awesome! I don't know if such a thing is available, so I would go with red.

Nettie Phillips 05-02-2011 06:32 PM

Sure is a pretty quilt.

Nancy O. 05-02-2011 06:35 PM

Beautiful quilt, I would go with white.

momto5 05-02-2011 07:01 PM

Beautiful work, as always!
I think I would use red also...unless you're into color changes (not!). Please show us when you finish it.

I agree with a dark red.

i usuallly use the clear when i have to go over several colors and then the colored bobbin thread to match the backing.

Jammin' Jane 05-02-2011 09:21 PM

Invisible thread so it doesn't distract the beauty of the quilt!

stitchntimesewing 05-03-2011 02:43 AM

Red is my vote.

Lucy90 05-03-2011 04:46 AM

I would use red

In my limited experience with quilting, one lesson I learned was that black thread used in quilting is very unforgiving. It stands right out and makes your stitching obvious, even the mistakes in my case. If you want the drama of black, that's okay, but it could just overpower and distract from the beauty of your work.
I think soft white would be a choice.
The pattern is beautiful and it looks like a good size. Please PM me with the name of the pattern and its size. I've been looking for a pattern to make a wall hanging over our bed. Thanks so much for your consideration.
Oh, by the way, my hand quilting teacher told us of a person in one of her classes who was going to quilt her quilt in soft pink. "Oh, no!" Barbara thought. Well, the finished product was just beautiful!!!! Whaaddaya think about soft pink

I agree with Kas....good advice!

Red Definitely! I like the guilt, that is so pretty. I enjoy seeing red, black and white quilts.

auntiehenno 05-03-2011 12:29 PM

Not sure but if you send me a piece of that lemon m. pie, I might tell you. HAHA

Pretty quilt

LAQUITA 05-03-2011 12:32 PM

bLACK/white verigated as the 'reds' as aslways so hard to match up. BUT if youcould fine one to match I would do as someone suggested and make a pretty pattern in the 'white squares' but do them in the red.

HTH I see you have LOTS of opinions. LOL :)
