Who'd thunk that stripe would make such fantastic blocks? That is awesome and I love the star setting with it. Very pretty.

beautiful quilt and ugly fabric can sure turn into the swan I vote for black too

I'd do a 1 1/2" black sashing all around, then border it in a solid purple or turquoise (that is turquoise isn't it?). Personally I'd go for the purple :) Then I'd do a pretty e2e design in the center w/a separate border using grapes on a vine design.

Black ...
Though I would audition the black, along with the purple ... black the width of the 1/2 hexie, then purple, then more black, probably the width of the first black plus the purple. Possibly wider. Then bind it off with the purple. Yes, I am thinking leave off the striped border. For a reference of the original fabric, include it on your backing. If you decide on the purple as I suggested, .... don't introduce a new fabric. Just cut the purple stripe (with seam width) from your original fabric for a perfect coordinated effort. Likewise use the original fabric for the binding. |

This might be a voice in the dark, but how about a small green border matching the green in the fabric? It will highlight the purple and then finish with a black border to tie it together. I just think that it might give enough contrast to define the edges but punch up purples. Just a thought.

Great quilt. I vote for black.

I like it just the way it is with no sashing in between the blocks.
|
Nothing UGLY about that one.

White. I think if you use black, the secondary pattern of stars will be distorted. Love the quilt, and it will look good regardless of the border

I love your blocks! I do like the black and I think if you used purple you would lose the block definition. I like the blocks the way you have them now without sashing so the secondary black stars show. The stripe will make a nice border. Whatever you decide, it will be a great quilt.
