yea i found that out AFTER i had tried to quilt..boy did i feel stupid..

I can't take a picture right now, it's in the shop and believe it or not, the guy was taking the machine out of the car and he dropped it , in the parking lot. I was speechless, he said, it is a heavy machine, it'll be ok. So the problem with this machine maybe not a problem if the machine is damaged. I don't know what to do if it is damaged, it is too old to be replaced.??? I don't want a new one, I want my old one not to have been dropped. I never dropped it in 25 years. Anyway when I get it back I'll take a picture.

If they dropped it, they should fix it, replace it or pay you for it. Don't let them tell you it's an old machine so we can't give you much for it. I'd go for replacement and a newer machine if they can't fix it.

Yikes. Sound like they might have damaged your machine and they
should make it good. Fix it or replace it.

I would make sure they pay you somehow if your machine is damaged.

No, they owe you a new machine. someone dropped my old Singer long ago but they did fix it.the lady called me and said she picked it up off the floor and it rattled. it didn't rattle before i took it to them, so someone had to have dropped it. talk to the manager.
and then have them show you how to work the foot there in the shop.

They acted like it was not a big deal. I am so worried, because it is not replaceable. I am nervous waiting to hear what they find. The other problem is that I don't want to get another machine from them. Oh well, wait and see.

I would be LIVID!!! Don't let them tell you "Oh, it's OK," and he hadn't even looked at it! I would have them fix it, then have them sit down with you and the machine and let you test sew on it--and then demand a hefty discount on the bill. I would also probably mention that I have a LOT of quilting friends and that they would probably be hearing about their little 'mishap!" (Boy, I sound like a B*****, but that's your 'baby' they just dropped on its head!) :hunf: :hunf:

You don't sound like a B**** at all, its only sensible that if a dealer/repair tech drops your machine, that they have the responsiblilty to make restitution.
