Wishing you a 90 deg day....here, we've had more than our usual 90 deg days this summer.
|
Are the lines still straight after you do this?
|
Did you have to put something heavy on top of it?

I don't know about the lines.. will have to wait on that answer.. and no, I don't think she put anything on top of it.. just layed it out flat.
on top of the car.. good idea ! would be hotter. I have laughed at a few of these posts.. the trials of getting a good - big - cutting mat ! Nice to read all these ! thanks for posting ! Ell |
My Olfa cutting mat got warped when my dearest love threw it willy-nilly into the back of his car when we were moving.
I laid it out on top of my car in the heat and within a few hours, it was flat as a pancake. HOWEVER!!! The measurements were all wrong. If I followed the grid when cutting, I got wavy, wonky lines. I got sick and tired of having to measure everything with a yardstick and just bought a new mat. |
Beware. If you use the lines to cut by the measurements could be off. I had a 12 inch mat that warped and the measurements shrunk.

I did the same thing...I fixed it by warming it up again and then setting some books on it for several hours. It worked...it got flat again. Good luck with whatever you try!

I turned on my oven, let it heat for just a couple of minutes, then placed my warped mat on the top shelf with the oven door open, As soon as it was warmed up and pliable, I took it out and laid it on the concrete in my garage, placing a heavy container on top of it. It was perfectly flat. However, the measurements were off. I never use my mat lines though, so it wasn't a big deal.
