I LOVE Hobby Lobby. They have great yarn and home decor. They also have regular 50% sales on rotating categories. Picture frames are a favorite of mine. They have an ad in my Sun paper almost every week. The 40% off coupon runs every other week here. 40% off is only good on regular priced items though. HL is great for kids crafts too and they always run specials for VBS craft items in the summer. Enjoy!

We have a new Hobby Lobby coming to our town this next month. I hope it will be everything we are waiting for.
I enjoy Hobby Lobby as well. As said before, their fabric (cottons) are almost always 30%. Sometimes you will find a 40% coupon in their ads. Didn't know about getting their newsletter so I better sign up!!
I live in SE Alabama, almost on the Florida line. I used to have to go either to Panama City or Montgomery to shop at Hobby Lobby. There are four of them in Birmingham and have gone that far to shop there. I think hey have great fabrics and their sales are really good. You have to look at their weekly sales paper and can get some really good buys. We're finally getting one here, too. Can't wait. Supposed to open in February -- and that's right around the corner. I'm so excited!!

where in Fla. I have family in Starke, near Gainsville.
ours always has the 30% off on most of the cottons. That's ok...its still only about 4 something a yard....that's cheaper than I can get it elsewhere. And I use the 40% off coupon to buy muslin or batting or tools. Last time I got a neat little bendy light that lets me work on something in bed at night and not bother dh.
When we were in Florida last Feb. I stopped in a Hobby Lobby store and bought a kit for a baby quilt. I really liked their fabric.
I like HL...congrats on getting a store close to you!
Our nearest store is 50 miles away, so I don't get there too often. I did notice their background music is christian, such a break from that tinny sounding radio sound tracks most stores play. Now you say they are closed for Sunday church, I wonder who owns them.
checked on line and it looks like the SW Florida location is:
9355 Ben C. Pratt Parkway Fort Myers, FL 33966 |
Our Hobby Lobby has an abundance of Quilt material as well as other fabrics, notions etc.
You can still use the coupons when the fabric is on sale, You just tell them you have a 40% coupon and they will let you use that instead of their 30% off fabric do it all the time.Love hobby lobbby.
The have better quality fabric. Maybe not as large a selection as JoAnn, but nice quality.
I never heard of hobby lobby until coming to this site. They just opened a new one in Visalia, Ca. It's a cute store, a little something for everyone.
I like Hobby Lobby, because I can always find something for the "craft d'jour." Sometimes I like to work on differnt kinds of crafts, and I can always find lots of different things to for what I'm working on. The fabric department in ours is not large, but they do have a nice selection of quilting cottons. Sometimes I think a big selection is just TOO big. Gets harder and harder to pick things out with too much to choose from.
I'm from Tallmadge, OH (in FL for the winter). I love Hobby Lobby and their fabric section. I'm not very good at putting prints/colors together; and they have the fabric all arranged so that prints that go together are displayed together. I think the price is very reasonable. They also have the 40% coupons they e-mail to you when you sign up. I was hoping I'd find something like that in the Kissimmee area, where we stay.
Hobby Lobby in the states where I have shopped does not have a huge assortment of quilting fabrics or notions but they have great coupons. I have one less than a mile from my house and I love it! I think you will too.
Wow.f You will have sooo much fun there. I go to one in Muncie, In when I visit my aunt there and I wish they had on here in N, Central Fl.
I found HobbyLobby when I was in Oklahoma, and I went every chance I got. Its a great and fun place to shop
We don't have one in Macon, but I do go to the one in Warner Robins which is about 15 mins away from me.
You will love Hobby Lobby! In the store here, there is a whole section dedicated to quilters--and I sometimes buy fabric that is probably meant for clothing to use in a quilt.
Fortunately, you can't be indicted for breaking the quilting rules! froggyintexas |
I'm not impressed with the HL by me, never seem to see anything I need or want there!
Goodness -- every time I go, I should just give them a hundred dollar bill as I go in because I always spend that and more. Love that store! Ours opens in Dothan on Feb 4th. Can barely wait.
We finally got a Hobby Lobby in Daytona Beach and I just love it. They have everything. Their fabrics are nice but not the huge selections of JoAnn's or LQS. Everyone in our store is very helpful. They used to have 40% off coupons but not now. The fabric has been 30% off their regular price though.
You'll love it!!! They do close on Sunday. |
You'll love Hobby Lobby. They have a nice family feel, at least mine does. The people who work there are usually willing to do anything to help you out. Their prices are quite good on just about anything you need.
We are in FL for two months. My sisters-in-law are going to take me to the new Hobby Lobby nearby. I had never heard of it until reading of it on this Board. I can hardly wait. DH and his brother can go out for lunch. It sounds like I'd better not have any special time to be home. Can't wait!

My gripe with HL is that they so badly need to UPDATE their checkouts ... they don't have price scanning, so the poor clerks have to ring up EVERY item. It takes forever when people are buying a lot of stuff, plus they often miss the sale prices. Are HL like that all over the US ?? I've only been to ones here in TX ... just wondering  |

I am too, we now have one in Visalia, Ca. I always visit Hobby Lobby when I go to Texas.
they are pricy I prefer Joanne's they have better sales. The Hobby Lobby near me has some great fabrics (even quilting fabrics) but there sales do not inspire me to buy there often. I check em out cause they are close to the Joanne's store I frequent(more like haunt LOL) Joann's has coupons that I get in the mail.

Our Hobby Lobby has mostly quilting cottons, but some other fabs as well. The quilting cottons are always 30% off, but if you have the 40% coupon you can take it off the original price of the fabric, so 40% off instead of 30% off.
The problem with their selection is that it never changes. When they finish a bolt, they just get more of that same fabric. They have exactly the same fabric seletion they had three years ago-- HO HUM... And the fabrics are easily spotted by people who shop for fabrics at HL, because we've all seen it before. The quality of most of it is good, but I don't understand why they don't buy different fabrics, at least every 6 months or so. |
I do like getting quilting rulers and other tools and staples with my 40% off coupons...
i love to go to our Hobby Lobby
Where in sw florida is it coming to? Can you tell or will that give your hiding place away?
Nanny
Where in SW Florida is it opening? |
Keep an eye out on www.hobbylobby.com
If you go to store locations on the website, it will tell you where the new stores are opening in 2011. The new stores are suppose to have scanners this year. The older stores will have them as updates are added. The coupon is in the local Sunday paper or online. There is a coupon each week, but not always 40% off any one item. They have also started shopping online. The coupon can be used online too. Sometimes they offer reduced shipping. You just have to check the website each week. I have worked for HL for ten years. I think you will see some amazing changes over the next two years. Keep looking!!! Mr. Green has an interesting story. You can access it on the website too. PS- We have gotten some new calico and some new apparel fabrics in the last couple of weeks. With inventory over and spring coming, there should be some more new "stuff". I am glad I don't have to decide which fabric to carry and how much to buy. My poor little mind couldn't handle that. I have enough trouble just picking out material for a doll quilt!! |
I love Hobby Lobby.
We had one come to our area about a year ago. No more Joann Fabric's for me,LOL |
Luck you. Love hobby lobby.
