i love it the way it is... but the suggestion of gold quilting thread would be nice

I think it is Christmassy just like it is. I wouldn't add anything else to it. It would make it too busy. It's very lovely.

Do YOU think it looks Christmassy? After all, it's your tree skirt!

If it doesn't now, won't it when it's under a Christmas tree?? I sure think it does - and will...

That said - if you haven't bound it yet, maybe look for a fabric that has red and green in it?

Thanks everyone! I thought of some sort of applique and other embellishments, but considering my skill level and all the other things I have going on right now it would just be a recipe for disaster, or another UFO. I'm glad y'all agree that it's Christmasy enough. Now, I had been thinking of red thread for the quilting. What do you think of that? Think I'll take it to the store and check out gold & green & see which is best. Y'all's opinions on that are appreciated also.

If you are from Scandinavia you are already very Christmasy...that is what their colors/patterns are along with hearts.

Try a green quilting thread and use snowflake or Christmas tree motifs for the designs. :)

I made three of these, one I used Winnie the Pooh in Winter and a white fabric that had silver sparkles in it that made it look like tinsel or snow glimmering in sunshine. I used Santa fabric and a Green branch fabric with the other two. You can also think about reversing the white spaces, make those a Christmas fabric and the other a white on white fabric.

holly leaves maybe. but it doesn't have to "look" like Christmas, just be used then.

Second post, in the white spaces on mine, I did snowflakes in blue to match the Pooh fabric and on the white spaces of the Santa themed skirt I drew in Old World Santa's, and the Green one different snowmen.
