I agree with batiks there is no Right side. I have even used the "wrong" of print fabrics if I want a muter color.

Exactly - pick a section of the fabric that has speckle-spots or "drip marks" - one side will have crisper, sharper definition of the speckles and drips, and the color is usually just a bit more vibrant. Use the side that "matters" to your project - if it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter.

I was told with them it doesn't really matter; chose which ever you want.

I have heard that on batiks there is no real right or wrong side.

If it's almost too close to tell....I just use whichever side on each block and any differences disappear.

I usually use both sides (getting 2 fabrics for one price) or I use the side that fits my pattern best
