Agree totally...being creative is a thought process not the end result. In fact you can be very creative but not talented because you lack skills to complete your ideas. I know people who do everything they do perfectly but are not at all creative. You must be able to think out of the box to be creative. Just doing a project does not make you creative. Making the project your own... does!!

I thought being creative means your own idea? Get out the dictionary and have a creative dinner conversation about the definition. See if he agrees. Men! They sure are funny sometimes.

Being creative is thinking outside of the box and having your own vision

In the Merriam Webster Dictionary - the defition of "Creative" is as follows:
having the quality or power of creating.
Therefore...I do belive that your DH has his definition backwards according to the true definition!

OOPPSS! You've been given the definition already...great minds think a like!

What are your thoughts on being CREATIVE?

I think your dear husband has the definition backwards...you are creative in the total sense of the word! IMHO to follow someone else's directions in it's entirety would only create people who could not think for themselves nor would they be able to come up with superior results in whatever process they were trying to accomplish. His definition would create a world of clones and not one of fabulous creative people who love to create anything/everything with their own personal touch.

That is one thing that's so fabulous about this board...all the creative people who dared to change and do it their way!

I think your husband must have a mathematical mind - the type that could be an engineer. They have to follow a certain amount of "rules" or it doesn't work.
