I'm rather new at quilting/sewing. I bought a DC2010 last December. It sews very nicely and I made the right decision based on what I could spend at the time. A sewing instructor at James Madison University who was in the store while I was looking at the machine to buy told me her students use the Janome DC2010 in class. She was very happy with the Janome.
If I had had more to spend I would have opted for the Baby Lock or a reconditioned Bernina. Each machine felt so very solid to work on yet hummed along beautifully.

You've given me heart! I'm making a quilt for each of my grandchildren - 7 of them - as they reach 18. I'm on my second one now but the youngest has 8 years to go - and I'm 71! I also don't think I'll need another machine/s - my 11000 and Horizon are great!

I have a 9000 and 11000. Never a problem with either one. Use the 11000 for all my embroidery and the 9000 for other sewing and quilting.

LOVE IT! I started with a Singer 401 in 1959, got a Pfaff in 1973; the first with the even-feed foot, and really liked it, then in 2006 decided I wanted a machine that would do more, so I purchased a Janome 6600P. It is GREAT! My DD, GD, GS, friends have all sewn with it and they all love it too!

I love my machine DC 2010 and I had a JemGold which I nearly wore out. I know this are not the type you talking, but I think they make a good machine. In this day and age there is hardly anything that is perfect anymore, so there is that chance of a Lemon.

i have a 9000 embrodiery maching and a Platinum Gem for travel. I love both of them. I have never had a problem with either one. I had a lovely Gem Gold, but I killed it in a car accident.
My LQS has a "club. that allows me to join for $50.00 per year and have the machine serviced as many times as I need. Sewing on flannel can really fuzz it up fast.

Janome 6600P is wonderful.
Little Janome sold at Hancock's Fabric Store about 11 lbs. gold & white $39 at Christmas works okay, but doesn't wind a bobbin correctly.
I love my 6600P and cannot imagine anything better!
Old Singer from 1998-will not lower feed dogs so can't FMQ. Tried plastic over feed dogs etc. no way to FMQ
