I'm not any kind of expert with EQ7, so I'm in awe of the diagrams that Eparys produced. May I point out, however, that her diagram, while giving almost the same effect as the original, has been simplified. In the original picture, there is a center square, partially surrounded by 4 HSTs. The remaining 2 sections of the center each cover the equivalent of 2 HSTs, which is clearly seen if you look at the light aqua fabric. Personally, I love the comparative simplify of eparys' diagram. I plan on trying to draw a PP drawing of the 4 "arms" of the outer border, which should be comparatively easy because of the grid that she included in the schematic. I'd be interested to see how people numbered the correct sequence of adding pieces to the PP.

In the number layout I did, 1, 2, 3 could be done in any order but 4 and 5 need to be in those places.

Boy the EQ7 does a great job of making the block, thank you so much for the diagrams. Sure would be great using scraps.

Whoa! Tha is a beautiful block! You're so right it would use up scraps but God help the person who has to cut all those pieces and keep them in order to sew them in the right place and in the right order. I'm afraid that is not going to go on my bucket list because I can't keep all of those pieces marching to the same tune at the right time! Thanks for the interesting lesson though!

This is a beautiful block but I would probably make enough for a wall hanging. I don't know if I could handle a large quilt with all of the pieces. Thanks for the E7 diagram; it makes it easier to picture the layout.
