So ofter I log on in tears, but always

Very nicely put! This board means so much to so many!

Jeanniejo 11-02-2010 03:50 AM

I agree completely!!!

Kitsapquilter 11-02-2010 04:05 AM

From one Linda to another....I like your thoughts. I agree this board is an awesome site for us.

mimiof3 11-02-2010 04:21 AM

OMG - my thoughts exactly. I don't post often but I am here everyday - in the morning with a cup of coffee in hand and read away. Than I'm back in the afternoon and again in the evening (don't want to miss anything hahaha) - it is addicting but it's nice to be around others who you can share your enjoyment of quilting and other matters. I so admire all the beautiful quilts and have learned so much about quilting. I love this board - it is a place you can turn to and am so happy that I found it. Have a great day everyone!

craftiladi 11-02-2010 04:59 AM

Wildyard.....Thanks so much for those beautiful words...I too belonged to a couple other message boards before stumbling onto this one. While some of those other places were nice, to me they were just "ok". Sometimes my posts would get acknowledge but most of the time I felt like I was a outsider. Here I can jump into any topic and not feel like I am butting in a private conversation.I also know if life gets busy and I don't get a chance to come in for a visit I will still be welcomed after my absence.I have met some great people from this circle of friends, traded/bought fabric/supplies/books/magazines...you name it whatever we needed someone was bound to have it.
I start each day w/ my coffee & all my friends here.
So I too would like to say a HUGE "Thanks"

newjeepgreen 11-02-2010 05:22 AM

Jates 11-02-2010 05:35 AM

I agree and I am thankful for each and every one of you that is a part of this wonderful board.

wildyard---one good comment, many friends later.

CindynNY: my papa used to say, "without money, we are not poor, only when you think poor. Remember your smile is worth more than money can buy." Just smile Cindy and keep on learning with friends at this site, we care, nurture, share our bits and pieces, with a smile. No ugly on this site.

greaterexp 11-02-2010 08:02 AM

Well put! Thanks for giving words to the feelings so many of us have about this great site - or, I should say, the wonderful people who make up this site.

aneternalpoet 11-02-2010 09:36 AM

Knowing I can cry if I want too, helps me feel so loved here on this quilting board. I am thankful we have each other to bond with, and find strength from.. A rough road has gone on in my own life, and I drew from the comfort of others as I was showered on with love, and compassion.

Annz 11-02-2010 03:29 PM

great insight

Happy Tails 11-02-2010 04:56 PM

You are mistaken when you say you have no one to share your passion for quilting with...WE are ALL here to share with you, just a click of a keyboard away. You are not alone at all, my friend.[/quote]

Thank u so much, I appreciate that....a lot :)

Your answer is so true. If you have to have an addiction, I think this a is pretty healthy addiction. Wouldn't it be wonderful if all addictions were so positive? I'm glad we have this wonderful circle of men and women to do our creating with.

livenlearn124 11-02-2010 06:11 PM

I literally got goosebumps when I read this, it is so very true and very well said.

The Quiet Quilter 11-02-2010 06:33 PM

I feel so blessed to have found this board when I really needed it. I had a knee replacement last October and was doing fine until March, it became infected. On May 10th they took it out and I had no knee. They put in some spacers with antibiotics in and a pic-line in my arm. I had to go to the hospital every day (7 days a week) for 41 days for an infusion of antibiotics. I wasn't allowed to do anything but sit in my wheelchair until I got my new replacement on Aug. 19th. Now I am finally using my walker and getting around some. Can finally do some sewing again.
During this time this board has been a real blessing to me. If I was feeling down, I could come on here and someone would always make me smile. Thank you everyone, you have all been my family during this time, and will be for a very long time. I can't tell you how much I've learned too. I am a fairly new quilter. God bless you all.
Sorry this is so lengthy, but I just had to add my 2 cents.

Happy Tails 11-02-2010 06:56 PM

Honey, u can be lengthy anytime you need to. That's one of the benefits of having soooooo many friends :) I hope you feel stronger each day.

watson's mom 11-02-2010 07:21 PM

To Quiet Quilter. Sorry you had so much trouble with your knee, hope you are feeling much better now.

Beautifully said wildyard!
Thank you for expressing in words what most of us feel in our hearts. This is a wonderful family and I am very happy to be a member.
Hugs to all... Dona

Momsmurf 11-02-2010 09:25 PM

From your heart to ours.........
so well said. Please include my hands in the circle found here.

radha 11-03-2010 08:01 AM

Dear Wildyard,

Yes, I feel the same way too, although I am located sooooooooo far far away. There are n't many quilters here, that I know of, who can help us out. But I'm lucky to be a part of this huge circle of friends, who are willing to help . Thank you.

abonda 11-03-2010 08:24 AM

I feel blessed because I have been able to comunicate throughout the world here with people I would never have met in my lifetime if it were not for this board. Specal people who have touched my life in so many different ways. I feel this was not by chance but meant to be. A common thread that ties us all together. There is no black or white, male or female, old or young, for me there is just LOVE. For that I am blessed, so thank you to everyone who has touched my life even if for just a moment, a second,an hour or a life time. Love YA ALL
Andrea

I also hope you are doing much better. I had hand surgery and couldn't do very much for 2 years. Still you had a very bad situation. Hope you get around to doing everything you would like to do.

grannyQ 11-03-2010 03:54 PM

I also am happy I found this board. I have loved every minute of it.

kkell 11-03-2010 06:38 PM

I am new to this site, and have usually sewn alone. I am encouraged to find such a warm community of women sharing on this site. I think I need it too!

At this point, as a nurse, I feel I HAVE to inform all who have responded to this thread...THIS SITE IS ADDICTING!! You all thought you spent a lot of time quilting, and since finding this forum of warm, loving ladies and gents, I'll bet your quilting time has been cut in half!! Am I right? Come on, now. 'Fess up, all!!!
I think we have isolated ourselves in our sewing rooms/areas behind our machines for so long and now the loving atmosphere of this group has finally pulled us out! Of course, I'm sorta kidding about this. I love this sight...it's the first thing I look for in my e-mail....the last thing I do at night! (And a hundred times during the day!!)
Yes, I'm addicted, and loving every minute of it!! At least it's heart healthy in every aspect!! (Well, maybe not every way...not too helpful in the exercise department!)

TX GMimi 11-04-2010 05:05 AM

Amen!!
