Rubber bathmat worked well before I got my Janome. I now use the button more than the foot pedal.

I'm lucky in the fact that the box containing the batting is under the table and the pedal cannot go far.

I cut a 2 X 4 piece of lumber to fit at the back legs of my machine. It works great! :lol:

I used a mouse pad too, until I got a made-to-order foot pedal holder thingy for 50% off at HANCOCK'S at one of the sales (usually around a holiday)

How very nice you are from Ireland, my grandparents were both born there although there are not any records to tell me where exactly. How long did that beautiful quilt take you to make, it is the first one I have seen...absolutely beautiful...PS, my grandmothers loved her beer, played a violin and did the jig...
