I agree with you. I spend lots of time dreaming about which colors to put in this quilt. I do have a line up of quilts with fabric waiting... This darn QB takes up so much of my time...but afraid I will miss something important if I don't read it all.
The ladies (and gents) on the QB are so UP BEAT that I need that at the end of the day. Thank you all for just being there..

I do that to. I like reading from the Quilting board mostly

LOL--I'm retired too, and I fuss with my fabric and dream about patterns and read threads on this board more than I sew. I average about 30 minutes a day actually sewing, but a lot more time dreaming and playing with my stash.

When I have a project, such as t-shirt quilts, I am obsessed to complete them. Sometimes 6-8 hours a day which includes all the prep work. Cutting, fusing, framing. Then put the frames on my design wall and study it for a day or two before I start actually sewing them together. Once that is done the rest is a piece of cake. I always finish one project before starting another. Retired and loving it.

I get up early (4 to 5 a.m.) each morning and sew for at least 2 to 3 hours. I love "my" time where I can sew and quilt without being interrupted by the normal stuff that occurs daily. Husband, grandson and dogs are all sleeping and my cats have learned that there is no use to bother me so they sit quietly and just watch. Turn on the tv-I Love Lucy-and away I go. I love it and look forward to that time every day. On Tuesday I was out in dining room using table to cut patches at around 4:30 am, husband must have heard me so he gets up and sees what I am doing and says, "Do you have a deadline on this one"? I had to laugh at him. LOL

I feel so blessed! I am engaged in some step of quilting 8-10 hours most days. It's not my job, it's my passion.

It really changes from one day to the next. Sometimes all day.

I ususlly sew 8 hours a day, if I'm working on a quilt. I don't sew every day, only when I'm making something, then I have to finish it.

That sounds like me .
