My daughter thinks I should start her quilt NOW even though I am still hand quilting her big sister's.
How many quilts do you all have going at one time? My sewing machine broke this morning...fortunately I have my Aunt's in the garage. And another on the floor that I can't figure out how to work... |
Not sure I can count that high...LOL!
I keep about 6 sewing projects at different stages and have several more in progress of collecting the fabric for.
Glad you have back up machines!
Maybe you'll be able to work on both that way, piece for awhile, quilt for awhile ...  |
I'm in the minority. I usually have only one quilt going, and it gets done. I find it much easier to finish a quilt than to start one.
I never used to have more than one project at a time, key word being "used" to.
More of late, I've been adding projects faster than I'm finishing them. It seems I have one project for each of the quilting clubs I go to, plus one or two at home. Hmmm, that makes about 5 projects that are active, and a few in the closet collecting pieces until I have enough to start them too. LOL |
Too many!
At least 3 are worked on at one time. I usually have 2 on the sewing table and one handpiecing or hand quilting project on my side table by my comfy chair.
Too many to count!!! lol
Too Many!
Well, currently working on?? Usually about 3 or 4. I am not counting any UFO's.
Right now I have 5 going...
I have no idea how many I have, it is all personal preference.
I have way too many going on!
I'm not starting another one, until I'm finished with what I'm currently doing. Works for me!
I always have a pile of quilt tops waiting to be assembled and quilted, usually have at least one quilt in piecing stage, generally have a couple of small projects going or waiting to be started. I'm afraid to count them because it might keep me awake tonight! I work best in knee deep chaos. Makes me feel like I have plenty to live for! HA
I only keep one quilt that I'm working on at a time. I don't let myself start a new one until the old one is done...all the way down to the binding. I do cheat a little, as I have a box that has blocks in it that I play with between projects. It started with the Pioneer BOM a couple of years ago, now I'm working on the Star BOM using the same fabrics. And I'm doing a BOM at the LQS. I don't count BOM's because it takes forever to get them all. :-D :-D I know myself well enough to know that if I didn't make myself finish one, I'd probably never finish. And it would make me too nervous to have a lot of UFO's lying around.
I have a lot waiting to be quilted and four in progress. Sigh.
Too many to remember
I have two or three at a time. Right now I'm trying to decide on the window sashes for an Attic Window. I have the scenes for the windows, just not sure of the sashes, so I keep it pinned up on my design wall and try different things, while I am working on something else.
way too many..
about six, not including ages old ufo's
I work on 1 project at a time, from start to finish.
I usually have a couple patterns on my desk to check on fabric to see what I may need to purchase at the next LQS sale. This way I know ahead of time what fabric I may need to purchase so I can take advantage of sales. I can check my stash to see what fabrics I can use for the quilt. This also gives me time to think through a pattern and decide if I really want to make this quilt or how I may want to make any changes to the quilt top. Working on one project at a time keeps the clutter down in my sewing room as well. |
2 MANY!! LOL!!!
Usually 2 or 3. One is being machine pieced. One is being handquilted and the 3rd is a hand pieced 3/4" hexagon quilt that will be an ongoing project for years.
Sometimes, if I'm in the mood to cut, I will start another. I do this because some days I just want to sit and do hand work, other days I'm in the mood to cut or machine piece. Always have something I can work on no matter what mood I'm in. |
I have way too many. I was going to try and finish them all this year but have started 2 more. Must be ADHD. LOL
I try to complete piecing the tops together so that I do not forget the "how to", then put it aside. I will then do sandwiching of 2-3 and then machine quilt most when I have the machine set up for it. After quilting then I put on binding and another quilt finished.
More than I care to admit to!
I have two that I want to finish today....and another one too start during the snow day tomorrow...and too many to count that are in the "collecting" stage....and waiting stage.
Gosh, I wish I could be that disciplined and actually finish one before moving on to another one. I take a lot of little classes for smaller projects so I get sidetracked alot. This year, I will focus on finishing up projects already started along with some cross-stitch and needlepoint projects.
Money's going to be tight this year so I guess that's probably the way to go. |
I usually have two or three going. I also have project trays going to collect fabric for the next two or three. Like all quilters, I have a dozen or so in my mind.
Right now about a dozen projects in various stages of done. One just needs border attached, one needs rows put together, on sashing sewn to blocks, one needs machine applique, one piecing, and several in various stages of cutting out. Pizza boxes hold the projects.
usually I have about 5 projects going at different levels-so I will never get bored!
More than I want to know about. Just when I do the count, I find another I had forgotten about! Drats! jan
I have three going but I am working on my masters so I dont get to work on them as much as I'd like to I am also making a dress for each of the grandbabies.
From Don-isewman--I just sent a message to a member, and told her when, I got into quilting, I use to have 8-10 UFO's started, and eventually it got a little out of control for me. I'd always, see something, I wanted to start, and of course start it. I finally finished those 8-10 project's, and now only do only 1 at a time. Don-isewman

Between 4 and 8 at any given time.

I have so many going. I work on one till I reach a point I want to stop, then I go to another one. The more the better.
I just counted 4 active ones I am working on. But then there are UFO's that were started at some point and then put away. Who knows when I'll get to them.
