I also learned how to sew on my Mom's Mother's treadle.

I learned to sew on a treadle and electric while in Home Economics class. I still have my very first project we made. Yes, you guessed correctly - an apron - mine had appliqued pink tulips and I also had to embroider my name. My mom had an electric. I don't remember sewing on it very much though. Sweet memories.

I learned to sew using my Mothers treadle machine , but had actually started sewing my doll cloths on a hand turn toy size sewing machine when I was five years young, I grew up drawing and designing all my paper doll and Barbie cloths for my dolls, so you could say I had a desire to sew beginning at age five. :D

I learned on an old brunswick treadle. I wish I had it. But it went by by years ago.

Learned side-by-side with my grandmother. She was on her treadle and I was on my great grandmother's treadle.

I learned to sew on my mother's Blue Grass electric sewing machine. When I went into high school, our home economics teacher required us to use the treadle machine first. We then progressed to the electric machine. I loved the rhythm of the treadle.

I learned on a treadle. It was my mother's and grandmother's machine. I wish I had it now, but it went to a sister.

My mother had an electric Singer from the 1920's but bought a treadle at a church auction to keep in our cottage that did not have electricity at either end of the season.
I learned to sew during the summer so learned on the treadle.
It ended up at my house after Mom passed. A friend called me one day to ask where on earth she could find a good working treadle for their mountain cabin. I loved the machine, but did not need another so off it went to its new home and I still get updates.
Mom's early singer went to my son who begged for it -- I get updates on its health as well.

I made my first 4-H slip and dress on my mother's treadle machine in the 30's, then many more dresses during high school. She never had an electric machine, and I wish I had her machine now!
