My guild used to be $25, has recently gone up to $30. We do a raffle quilt every year to raise funds also. With this money we are able to pay for the space we use at the local library and bring in speakers and teachers from all over. I was very lucky to go to a class with Bonnie Hunter about 5 years ago before she became a household word. I did not rejoin my guild last year, mostly due to time constraints and family issues at the time. I hope to get back to it this fall. It was well worth the money for the things I've learned, the friends I've made and for the mini quilt show we have every month during show and tell time.

I'm 77 and it's been my observation that rude old people were rude young people. Younger people get called down for that but older ones get a pass. Why is that? And why is it that old people think they have to have their way all the time? Just because they're old?? I think not.

My guild is $35 a year. By the time you figure in all the stuff that the guild actually pays for it is worth it! Insurance and the church rental is not cheap and then there are the guest speakers and classes! I'm on the executive for the guild so I know exactly how much it costs to run a group like this.

I found the members that complain about dues/money are the ones that just show up for the programs and then complain it wasn't what they liked. The members who complain at our guild are asked to serve as chairman to get that dept. straighten out and boy do they backtrack! LOL

The quilt guilt I belong to is $25 a year if you want to participate by bringing a food item to a meeting (about once a year or so) or $35 if you don't want to bring a food item.

Our guild membership dues are $30. On occasion we have guest speakers. We have workshops but you have to pay for those separately and they are at a different place. We organize trips, they are also extra. We make charity quilts and pillow cases and have a really nice quilt show every odd year. We have a pretty good library, block of the month, book raffle, membership raffle, etc on every meeting. Our orphan block auction is once a year and it is very funny. We have show and tell on every meeting, as well as sew time that starts two hours before the meeting. I am pretty new there, but so far, so good!

Mine is $25 a year. It seems to be a fair price for what we get in return. Free classes and in house sewing for our selves and charity.

I belong to 2 guilds, one $20 and one $24....with 50 members it gives us enough to cover lunch supplies, newletter paper and ink and to get a good teacher about once/year. We do the annual fair quilt with everyone contributing blocks and time spent at our quilt exhibit. The $20/year has a quilt show every other year and that money is used for teachers etc, but everyone does not participate in all the classes. it seems it gets less every year and I think its because of the been/there/done/that thing. I know I feel like that alot about classes....

Hunting Clubs purchase or lease large amounts of acreage and may or may not maintain a hunting lodge or camping area. Membership is not large in order that all have adequate space to hunt and to avoid too much pressure on the game population.
