Ours is $40 just went up last year so this will be the 2nd year at this price. We have I believe over 125 members. We have workshops some member lead some by known names in the quilting world on a seperate day at a seperate location than our meetings. We also have guest speakers and we do charity sewing days that are seperate from all other activities. We do a raffle quikt everyother year and on the off years we have a quilt show. We also have small raffles at the meetings and once a year what they call a brown bagraffle/auction of donated sewing related items members donate.

I belong to 3 guilds - a small one, a large one, and a medium-sized one, all in different nearby towns. They have all been $25/year, but the large guild is raising dues to $30 (and there did seem to be some opposition to that), and the medium-sized guild only charges $20 to members who are over a certain age. I think they're all well worth the money.

Dunster, I think I belong to the same large one (MVQG) that just raised dues to $30 but it seems like they had to to be able to cover ongoing costs. I would rather pay $5 more and continue to have decent speakers. We have oer 300 members and both morning and evening sessions of the monthly meetings; I go to evening meetings because I work full time.

ours is $30 and worth every penny. I would imagine it would depend on how active your guild is, what programs they do, what the dues pay for. our guild is a very active guild- lots of community projects, swaps, exchanges, group projects, help, tips, hints, inspiration, show & tell, guest speakers, trunk shows, a bi-annual quilt show, workshops...always something going on- worth the $$!

Dues are between $25-50. When fundraising becomes a monthly issue with the profit being $0.25/hour labor who are we kidding. One hour of my time is worth way more than that. When programs are minimal, no matter what the dues, you'll see me walking out the back door and not coming back. I live an hour drive one way, that's 2 hours round trip, $20 gas, I can find quilting buddies much closer to home and spend that 2 hours and $20 with my quilting. I check what's going on at the meeting in the newsletter, and if it's not worth it, I don't go.

It seems that the same people do all the work. So how about we give them a break and some support.

I'd like to see dues at $100/yr. An officer or committee worker receive $10-50 discount depending upon the responsbility of their duties. Even that much discount is a slap in the face for all the work they put in.

I took notice of the $1000/yr dues in a field that's mostly men. Ladies, don't sell yourselves short.

The guild I belong to just raised the membership fees. Regular fee is $45. Seniors fee is $35. We are a very large guild with over 300 members. We average about 180 at each meeting.

Our guild dues are 12 a year.

Our dues are $25 a year and we have around 100 members. We have a monthly speaker, an annual quilt show, a raffle quilt that we are encouraged to sell raffle tickets for every year, charity quilts, and a lot of fun. It is definitely worth the $25.

Since guilds are usually non-profit, I don't understand why some have such high dues, especially the big guilds, unless they have to pay a lot for the meeting venue.

Ours is $20. There is lots of debate as to its value.

I belong to 2 guilds both have dues of $25. The larger guild has to pay $150 a month for the meeting place. There are about 120 who attend each month. The smaller group pays less but I can't remember what the cost is. Both bring in national speakers at least twice a year. We also get regional speakers and use some of our members to cut down on the cost. Both do raffle quilts bi-anually.
