Haven't read all of the replies but I would do a scrappy of all the left-overs, joined on the bias of course.

First let me say what a stunning quilt you made!
I agree with Tartan about using the backing fabric as you binding too. It would match the back - not frame it - keeping it cohesive and letting your quilting be the focus on that side.
I also think the lighter fabric would create a balanced frame for the front side.

Another vote for darker binding.

I also vote for the darker binding. How about using a darker blue thread for the top and bobbin FMQ on the darker areas of quilt top and a lighter blue thread for FMQ bobbin and top of lighter areas. Think it would look nice on the back and pull in both lights and darks and mellow out the dark of the binding.

Decisions, decisions! I would go dark but it's a beautiful quilt and I'm sure whatever you do will be lovely.

I know some people do make binding so that one fabric shows on the front and one on the back, although I personally haven't done it. I think the light would make a great final boarder for the front - or the darkest would make a great narrow boarder on the back. Rather than go through the making of a 2-color binding - which would have a seam right along the edge of the quilt, making it weak, I'd go with either of those.

Your quilt is gorgeous, I hope we'll have the chance to see it once it is quilted and bound!

I'd go with a darker fabric to bind it. IMHO, I think a scrappy border would take away from the design of the quilt. Your quilt is just beautiful!
