I was raised by a strong willed Mom. She taught me that men and women are equal. She always worked full time and so did my Dad. I am very much like her. I do watch my spending because of finances being what they are but my husband has more money in one 1949 Chevrolet than I do in all my sewing stuff.

My first husband (now deceased) used to go fishing every fall with a bunch of friends. Once the kids were grown up I'd go with him on his trips, as did the other men's wives. (camping in trailers and rv's) One year I decided to take my sewing machine. At first he balked until I told him I'd leave my sewing machine home if he'd leave his fishing pole home. Well that did the trick. The next year all the other wives took their sewing machines and we'd get together under a big canopy and sew away. I think everyone was happier with this arrangement, including the men. My current husband of 3 years is more interested in my sewing. Together he and I made 25 rag quilts in a year and a half.

Hey what a wake up call. My DH has been saying"You have too muck quilting stuff" He plans for me not to buy annew material and also giving away my pieced quilt tops. I gave away 4 tops last week. I got FQ on sale for .50 cents each. I also got 4 spools of thread. But if he needs a new chain saw,,, last week he just went and got one. Before that it was a riding lawnmower. They do live in a world of their own. I am disabled and can not do a lot but I am still able to piece and I make quilts for charity. He does not know how happy to make use of my time to help others. So now we are into recycling fabric. I appreciate your views.

Ladies, Sisters we have to stand together on this and support ourselves and each other. Domestic abuse is much more prevelant in our society than any one would believe. Take a stand, please.
