He thought it was an innocent question so he could be a smartass the next time I "needed" fabric lol The joke was on him because then I had to explain what I was lacking... so out of all your stash what are you lacking????
I'm lacking....cream and white fabrics yardage for backings My husband said when I pass away he was going to get a dumpster and empty my sewing room. I told him I wouldn't do that. I figured out I have thousands of dollars in fabrics/machines. If I had a good stash of whites/creams and blacks, I could get away without buying fabric for quite awhile. But then again, I may need a fat quarter, just in case.... |
Pat helps me pick out my colors (he has a really good eye and a non-traditional approach) so it is not unusual for him to declare that I obviously have NOTHING that goes with the current project and that we really need to go to the LQS. Yes, my man is not a stranger to the fabric stores.

too funny!!! I always need backing fabric as I only get a yard or 2 of fabric I just know I will use some day.
|
Yea, mine said with the amount of fabric I have, I could open up a fabric store.
|
Really?? lol I would be a frequent customer anytime you want to de-stash as I'm trying to build a stash (good news is I get to our mail before he does lol)

great answer. I am so glad that I have every bit of fabric I have. The prices have gone up and I have some of the most
beautiful fabric that I can sew with for years. I used my 60% off coupon to buy 20 yards of "Warm and Natural" batting on sale at JoAnn's. It is regularly $13.99 a yard. We have to be frugal.... |
Always on the look for backings and batting at a good price.
My husband always asks "who's that one for?" I try to tell him, the quilts just want to be made! |
My husband does not even ask....I think he's afraid to....LOL

This is hillarious. A friend had water problem from heavy rain, and her basement was getting water, they were moving fabric to "higher ground". Her husband remarked, "gosh you must have $100 worth of fabric here." We all know that amount can come in a small bag. She about fainted and just agreed, that yes, he was probably right. grin

Actualy i have a way bigger stash than my wife but she does a lot of embroidery by machine and i hand embroidery we both love to quilt, sew, knit, and crochet so we stash togather

You know I once thought DW had a lot of fabric stash. About a year and a half ago I started quilting . I used some of her stash but there was never enough of any one thing so I am buying more. There are worse things.
