Thanks---if there is a design I do not know what it is other than crazy quilt with embroidery embellishment. I really do not know if there is a way to blow it up or not. |

I use what I have....some cotton, some poly. I like to use a blend in babies & toddlers blankets & quilts. They get dirtier faster, put on the floor for baby to crawl on, etc., so they are washed more. A blend keeps its colors longer after many washings.

being as a beginner quilter was asking you, I agree with what you said and did. However, since she/he was a beginner you could have expounded and said that she should use what she could afford with the best quality possible and that the first quilts are often not perfect since they are learning tools. I think, being a beginner myself, I have this board, THANK YOU ALL, but she may not have this advantage and be a lonely quilter. Great advice, but as they say in politics, remember your audience. We all do the best with what we have and can afford.

All of the quilts I have made are scrapy, being a newbie at quilting I have not spent much money on any one quilt yet. When I started quilting my mother sent me all of her orphan blocks/material. Even cut my squares for me and mailed them off to me. Was soooooo excieted that I wanted to learn, bought all my tools for the trade.
