I do that all the time but my problem is I get sidetracked on my way to the sewing room, stop in the bedroom to put my purse down, lay the package on the bed, find something that needs to be picked up in the bedroom then off to do something else and forget i laid my package on the bed, go to sewing room ( now where did i put my new fabric, ruler or whatever i bought, i know i brought it in, don't find it till later when i go back to my bedroom for something then i say duhhhhh

Your bag is with my little cutting board/pressing board I made to take to classes...I know I brought it home.

When that happens to me, I figured out that my mind is picturing it to look a certain way. The way it's laying, the exact position I think it's in. Then when it doesn't, my mind plays tricks on me and I can't even see what I'm looking at. So I clear my mind of any pre-concieved idea of what it looks like and start looking again. Most of the time I'll find it.

I bought one of those Supreme Sliders and Halos from Sharon Schamber' s website last year, put it one of those "safe" places and still can't find it.

Check your mags or books...could be standing on end there. Been there & thru that.Start a diff pattern & the lost will show up as soon as you start cutting. :) :)

usually i go to bed thinking of it then sometime during the night the light goes off in my head oh i put it there

Just look for something else and you will find it. Been there and done that.

Thanks for letting me know I am not going crazy...I guess we all are so preoccupied with all the stuff going on in our lives we are just not concentrating on one thing at a time and it becomes a scrappy........I am still looking for a Welcome Baby card I purchased for someone three months ago...the child will be celebrating her first b/d before it finally shows up!!!!! I personally think the "thread monster" ate it...that's where all those bits of thread on the floor and on me come from!!!!!!

I "lost" my reading glasses one time and then "found" them on top of my head! :|

I don't know if you're a religious woman or not but when I put things in places where I don't remeber where they are or if I think I lost something...I pray to St. Anthony....I repeat.Dear St. Anthony please come around, somethings lost and can't be found. Please help my find........and I say what I lost....it's worked so far....for me anyhow!

You will find it. Around here we call that place where everything gets lost "The Black Hole".

I was looking for my orange raggy quilt. Yep, must have been the black hole. I found it right where I left it. Imagine that!

When I do this, I get DH to come look for me. He always finds what I am looking for and in just a few minutes.

Do a re-run. Mock-up a comparable parcel, go outside, come in and retrace your steps. Works for me sometimes. I'm still looking for the two little pillows I brought home the other day. :oops:

did you search the car/trunk again? I have thought so very many times that I brought something in, only to discover I left in the car. I just thought so hard about bringing it in...as by way of reminding myself, that I actually forgot it in the trunk!!!!!

Maybe it slid down behind something. I did that with my instruction manuel for my sewing machine. Nobody had been in my sewing room and I couldn't find that book. For some reason after having searched high and low I was begining to move furniture around in there, look down and it had slid off the stack of books behind the dog crate. I was so relieved yet so ticked at the same time.

Happens all the time to me:-) It will show up when you least expect it!

I've stopped sweating over losing things. Normally when I'm searching for it I'll find something else I had been looking for. LOL

I am doing this all the time. Funny part is I hate to admit I lose so much. So after a while of searching I will confess to a friend that I have lost it, and usually within a half hour of that phone call I will find whatever it was. I call her my good luck charm for finding things.

Yesterday I had that happen. I could not find the Heat and Bond that was still in the bag. I always find things in odd places. I am appliquing a dinosaur and I made the head from different fabric and that head has just run away somewhere. Cannot find it.

I had to houseclean for company coming - set aside two birthday cards that needed to be sent during the time company was here - well, company is long gone, and I think the cards are too! Where oh where did I put them? Someday I'll find them in the most conspicuous place - and wonder how did I overlook them, but as to date - no where to be found!

I have asked strangers to find the car keys I left in the car. Sometimes you just have to ask the husband, kids, or whoever to help you look.

So nice to know I'm not alone. Usually it shows up as soon as I tell my DH I've lost it.

they are probably right in front of your face. i find this happens to me when i lose something. the less frantic you are you will probably find it in the first place you look

this happens ALL the time with me. I do so many different crafts and I have filled up most of my basement with my finds through the yrs. I searched for 2 weeks for the pattern I use for my gd night gowns and finally found it a couple of days ago

Sounds like a normal day to me!

Stop looking for it and it will be in plain site!!!
