How do you all get your sewing done with being on here. I'm on here way too much. I don't want to miss all the pictures of things you have all made. I have learned so much and gotten so many idea's. Thanks to all of you.

I don't

When I first joined I read everything... Now I just subscribe to a few topics and only open the ones that have an interesting title.

The QB is a bit of a problem.......I enjoy it, so be it. Most days I don't "have to" do anything. I'm certainly not going out in this unending HEAT! Love the board:)

Good idea, PaperPrincess: I'm taking your advice::: Happy Quilting Everyone:

frarose 09-01-2011 06:25 AM

Just have to pick and choose as Paper Princess says.

blueangel 09-01-2011 06:44 AM

I don't get anything done until I read the board.

katier825 09-01-2011 06:45 AM

Step away from the computer!!

I scroll down through the Unred Topics and start with the pictures. Then I glance down and read the rest...and force myself to step away!

Xstitshmom 09-01-2011 06:52 AM

I'm the same way! I want to see what everybody has been working on -- they are all so beautiful.

And now, I must leave this computer and go get lost in my sewing area!

SharonTheriault 09-01-2011 07:02 AM

It does take some time away from sewing or doing other things, especially the chat where there are so many wonderful people to chat with and learn from. The whole Quilting Board is where I spend a lot of time.

Murphy 09-01-2011 07:04 AM

Pace yourself (smile). It can be done.

sueisallaboutquilts 09-01-2011 07:09 AM

Believe it or not I do MORE quilting since I joined the board and I'm on here a lot!
Everyone is so inspiring and I love you all! :D

SuziC 09-01-2011 07:25 AM

I know what you mean.....here i sit instead of sewing

annthreecats 09-01-2011 07:33 AM

I get to catch up while I'm at work during the week, so I can do some sewing at night when I get home and on the weekend I'm up early so I give the board a quick check and get on with my day. I definitely have to keep one eye on the clock when I'm on here. It's so much fun.

Gramie bj 09-01-2011 09:23 AM

I only allow my self 2 trips to the computer per day , with my morning tea and just before I go to bed. (got up real late this AM didn't get home from guild until almost midnight last night and after that 2+ hr drive didnot wind down for a while) If Im on any more I'd never get anything done!

Grama Lehr 09-01-2011 09:33 AM

AMEN!!

WOW. You drove 2+ hours to a Guild Meeting. That guild must be really special. BrendaK

Vanuatu Jill 09-01-2011 11:09 AM

I spend way too much time here as well, and feel guilty and angry at myself for not getting my quilting done-but then again, since I don't know many people here, this is my social connection - plus, I know I am "talking" to people about my passion and not feel guilty boring them to death, where no one in my family gives a hoot! I learn so much-but mostly, it is my only real social connection since I spend most of my time at home!!

sueisallaboutquilts 09-01-2011 11:49 AM

Vanuatu Jill, I know what you mean about the social connection. Very important and we have the same passion for quilting, but then we are mostly women so we can talk about women stuff too. :)
Not that I don't love our guy friends chiming in!!! :)

LauraEllen 09-01-2011 01:58 PM

I only read it when I have nothing else to do at work (shhh, don't tell the boss). That way it doesn't take away from time with hobbies.

Melinda in Tulsa 09-01-2011 02:32 PM

You mean we are actually supposed to sew?!?!

I t is the closest guild and the ladies are so welcoming! I have made many new friends of all ages. They are just like this board if you ask for help at least 2-3 will help you we only meet once a month so I hate to miss it.

Dolphyngyrl 09-02-2011 03:44 AM

I sew only when im in the mood the board doesn't effect it

See how addicted we are to our quilting and quilting fellowship! I'm sure it was worth every mile of that trip.

Now for the QB....I try to check just a few topics a day, it is fun to see where everyone is from and what they are doing. It also inspires me to GET SOME WORK DONE on my projects. For me the QB actually helps. I also watch a few topics and like to catch up with the advice. I have actually learned a lot of very interesting things here.

Hugs to all you out there in 'quilt land'!

Fabaddict 09-02-2011 05:10 AM

I allow myself 2 hours computer time in the morning (I get up between 6 and 6:30) and don't touch the computer again until Lunch - when I check my email only - then don't go to the computer until about 4 pm and am on intermittenly until about 9 pm.

Amythyst02 09-02-2011 05:17 AM

I love these boards, and I probably could get alot more done if I spent less time here, but hey, I am retired and I can do what I want now : ).

MaryAnnMc 09-02-2011 05:23 AM

Um, all I can say is, look at my "location" under my avatar.

I read the "Board" in the morning with coffee and toast. Then I check my Facebook, then I'm done on the computer till night time when you can catch me playing games on POGO. I clean, do the laudry and sew during the day.

MoMoSews 09-02-2011 06:24 AM

I solved that problem when I got an IPad. No getting on the board when I'm in the basement quilting!!!! I just read while watching TV in my easy chair.

Sierra 09-02-2011 06:34 AM

Gee, maybe I'm lucky to have lousey internet service. We can only get on in early morning and late at night. But come to think of it, that does free me up to quilt in the day time! :>) Before I joined the QB I had several quilts inside my head, screaming to get out. Now I have at least a hundred. And, unless something unusual is happening (company, day before or after a trip, super bad cold...., I quilt every day we are home.

Debo 09-02-2011 06:43 AM

It is addictive:)

Bren 09-02-2011 06:45 AM

I have spent a lot of time here lately, but have gotten some great ideas and have enjoyed every minute. It's a great place to hang out.

Mornigstar 09-02-2011 06:58 AM

This board is my contact with sewers/qulters. I have learnt now to be more selective while reading. For 4 days this week I couldn't see any pics --Did everything imaginable to the computer. It was problem with our service provider as woke up in morning and all was fixed.(after calls) Amazing how miserable you get when this quilt board doesn't work. It is such a part of my daily routine now.

joysewer 09-02-2011 07:01 AM

Now that I have started on this board, I read everything here and don't get mail from other groups read!!! I love this board!

jograma 09-02-2011 07:42 AM

My dh says if I would stay off the quilt board and spend that time sewing I might get some UFO's done or use up my stash. This board is too addictive!

mojo11 09-02-2011 07:55 AM

I also spend way tooooooo much time on the Board. However, I have learned so much and have got so many new ideas that I don't want to give it up for even a day. I have been sewing and quilting for many years and still learn. Thank you ladies and gents.

Joan Gaddis 09-02-2011 08:01 AM

i read everything!!!!!!!!!!!!! no quilting. but lately i don't get anything on a daily basis it is about every 3/4 days. go figure!!
