Be careful! Once you've caught the fever, it's like potato chips- one is never enough! But you've gotten off to a wonderful start. She is beautiful. Now you will have to name her!

You could take the motor and light off and convert it back to a treadle!

I wish I would have asked the lady I bought it from what her mothers name was so I could have named her after her previous owner. I'm I getting carried away, I would have to make a few phone calls to track this person down, who I do not know, she will think I'm nuts,
Oh, I think the fever is getting worse!!!!

what do you do with all of those machines? do you have some sort of museum or show room?

i named "josephine" after a generational family name. she has a new owner so she needed a new name.

go to the vintage machine thread and ask. just give them the serial number and someone will be able to give you the model number and date "born".

from what i understand after asking some ???'s after my purchase is that singer had that information posted on their website at one time but removed it. you can email singer and supply them the serial number and they can email it back to you.

i would try the vintage thread first to see if someone there can give you that info. once you get the model number you can google it and see what pics come back on your machine model.

Your 128 is a beauty, and the decals are there. She's a 1948 model. :)

The manual for her is here:
http://www.singerco.com/accessories/...manuals/search
Enter 128 in the search box and you'll be able to download a free manual.
