Enjoy! And please post your first project at the quilts made with vintage machines thread. Looking forward to seeing your first project![/quote]
Where is the vintage machines thread? Please! Wonderful machine! |
BJ, if you click on the "Quilting Forum" link and go to the main page and scroll down, you'll see "User Defined Sections". One of those is for the "Vintage Machine Shoppe". There are tons of posts about vintage machines there, and LOTS of information! :)

I agree you have either a 127 or 128 and it looks like it was originally a hand crank.

$20.??? How could you NOT buy it? LOL
|
Be careful; I had six before I even realized it and before I could quit looking. I might buy more but it will only be if I stumble onto them somewhere.

That is one beautiful machine, you got a good deal.

She is a beauty, I love the old gals.

Congratulations on your find. I wouldn't change out the motor and light if they work. Even if they don't seem to match, they have probably been on your machine for a very long time and have become part of her.
There was never any serial number information for the JC series on the Singer site. The JC machines were made in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Canada, in 1948 as Charlee mentioned. |
