sorry but i don't agree with the ladies who say to paint your machine. don't do it....it is beautiful just the way it is....to paint it would ruin the originality of it. It is beautiful.....JUST THE WAY IT IS......DON'T CHANGE A THING ON IT.....GIVE IT A NAME AND LOVE IT.....

Thank you for all the advice, I think I will start with a clean up and maybe some bobbins if I can find them and a few feet. I've already got $20 worth of FUN from this buy

Good price! I have a vintage White sewing machine that belonged to my husbands grandmother. It's a treadle...still works. We refinished it and are using it as a table in our foyer. Looks great!

Oh, I think the fever is getting worse!!!! http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-152287-1.htm The machine had been posted on Craigslist, so I had their email address. I emailed them asking her name and why I was asking. They sent a very appreciative letter.. here's the text from their reply: "Our greatest hope was that someone who loved quilting as much as my mom did would get that sewing machine, and continue her work. Her name was Bonnie, and she was the sweetest mom any kids ever had. She loved us more than anything and she was the most wonderful woman who ever lived. Bar none. She just died July 6th, still makes me cry to think about it, I loved her so much." So, you never know... you may make someone's day. |
