My design wall is very portable. I have a double window in my sewing room, I can hand it very easily on the curtain rod. I can hang it in the hall if I need more room, or just lay it on the bed. I can also attach another design on top of it. I use the flannel back table cloth attached at the top with 2-4 skirt hangers. They have the swivel hook with the clamps on the ends. If need be you can attach another piece of flannel back tablecloth to it. You have 2 in 1 design walls. I have attached a couple of screw hooks right next to the trim around one of the doors in the hall and another next to some trim around the trim of the hall furnace. Each tablecloth can be folded upwards become portable. You don't have to detach the hangers if you don't want to. You only have the cost of the hangers and tablecloths or you can pick up large pieces of flannel on sale. I have a total of $17.00 invested in my portable design wall.

Get a big roller shade and glue on some flannel. Pull it down to use it and you can even roll it back up with with your quilt pieces still on it.

I just use my bed.

If you find something you want, better grab it,you never know if it will be there when you get back to it.Guess how I know?

I went to the local hardware store and purchased a precut piece of fiberboard (about $5.00), covered it in flannel, and using two large bulldog clips, I can hang it where ever I wish. I use two small command hooks - the kind that are glued onto the wall or door, but are removeable and don't stain the finish. Total cost about $15.00

before I got my design wall, I'd just pin my blocks to the fabrics wrapped on comic boards stacked on my wall-to-wall Ikea bookcases...hey, whatever works, right?

I used the painter blue tape to hanger the vinyle tablecloth backwards for the felt side out on my double do closet and cut up the middle so I can still get to the inside of closet. It's been up there for more than 7 wks aND TAPE STILL HOLDING. wHEN IN A THRIFT STORE OR GARAGE SALE I MAKE SURE I TELL A WORKER I WANT THAT ITEM AND THEY HOLD IT AND IF I CHANGE MY MIND I TELL THEM .

Done that more than once! Hopefully you will find something to work for you.

I did that with an industrial Juki, just walked away to think about it and poof...it was sold.
