I read somewhere to use the wreath hangers that go over the door and attach a peice of board (foam??) from home depot or such, covered with flannel from stash, that could be taken off the door when needed. That is what I am going to have to do as I have no room for design wall and not much room to quilt.

I have very limited space for quilting, so I used two clear command hooks on the back of the door and a flannel backed table cloth. I used plastic grommets for the holes and it works great.

Been there done that too many times to count. Granted I don't often get to thrift stores, yard sales, etc., but if I see something I grab it, just like fabric - if you see something you like you'd better buy it because it won't be there when you get back. Too bad about the cork board though. Maybe there is a better one around the corner waiting for you.

I have always used my floor...But it is too hard getting up and down so I purchased 2 sheets of the foam insulation with the aluminum on one side. I have a door wall in my living room and when I am not using the boards I store them behind the door wall curtains. They also keep out the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter

You could cover a piece of foam core with cotton batting and hang it on the door the same way (sew some loops to the batting or use pop top pulls to add hangers to the piece. It would be much lighter and could be hung to the door using command strips hooks. I'm thinking I need to do the same thing because my usual design "wall" is to spread things out on the guest bed, where the new kitty promptly rearranges according to her superior design inclinations.

If you don't want to put tack holes in your wall, you could use those command strips that stick up and come off easily
