I get it, I finally get it. I now understand why everyone has a STASH!!

I just started quilting about 3 months ago. I have made it a point up until recently to not have a stash. I started buying fabric during sales and now have a super small stash. I was working on a baby quilt trying to finish it up and realized I did not have the fabric I needed. But wait for it...I DID, I went through my draws and found the perfect fabrics to finish the quilt.

I get it I really do, now I want to go shopping and buy more fabric.

You got the addiction bug!

Rumbols 01-26-2012 05:50 AM

And we add another member to our group. Welcome and happy collecting.

Jessie 2 01-26-2012 05:54 AM

Oh my this is the way it starts.
Jessie

Yep, it finially bit her. Consider your stash a going green experience. You don't jump into your vehicle and run all over town now searching for that material.

ksdot417 01-26-2012 05:58 AM

I wanna go - shopping.

valleyquiltermo 01-26-2012 06:03 AM

We all knew you would get the bug sooner or later. We all started out with just fabrics for a quilt project then when you least expect it, it bites you and your hooked, LOL

Lori S 01-26-2012 06:48 AM

I don't think I would sew/quilt nearly as much if I did not have a stash. I think you are finding a reason to have a stash... you can just keep going on a project without breaking the mood by havingto stop and get the items for a project.

Grinster 01-26-2012 07:01 AM

For sure, you are a true quilter. Welcome to our world!

susie-susie-susie 01-26-2012 07:02 AM

Another one bites the dust!!! Welcome to the club. There is always room for another member of the stash club.

It seems like I can't go into a fabric store without leaving with some fabric!

Congrats. You will find a lot of enablers here that will encourage your new addiction. Warning though, be prepared for the coming addiction to VINTAGE sewing machines.

Hueysmom 01-26-2012 09:28 AM

I work in a hospital and see potential fabric squares in everybodys' uniform tops.
Fabric is addicting and won't make you fat!

annies-best 01-26-2012 10:22 AM

Ditto! I now have 8 treadles! I love having a stash. It is a large collection of fabrics that I love and so I am always happy to use them. (Unlike a store where I will pass over many bolts because they are just not my cup of tea.)

Jackie Spencer 01-26-2012 03:47 PM

Oh I think I feel a road trip coming on!!

raptureready 01-26-2012 04:04 PM

Sheila_H 01-26-2012 06:34 PM

Yes that is the way it starts for sure! I've only been quilting over 2 yrs and now have two big storage bins full and one other drawer in another room. It's funny when DH goes shopping with me and I have fabric in my hand and he says do you really need more fabric and every women in the place answers yes! He doesn't ask anymore lol you will have a huge stash before too long.
