Oh PULEEEEZE! If she gets better she can start a new life with a new stash to celebrate. A friend of mine did that. She took $1500 and had fun, saying the kids didn't get the insurance money, she did. LOL. If she passes away, which we all WILL she would be glad that it all went to someone who will cherish it, not to the dump. Finish those WIPs, love that fabric and move on....

I have 2 DILs who sew and a 10 year old GD who wants every thing I have. My DH will probably have a bonfine. LOL

Yesterday when my mom came over, she brought me 4 boxes of things she knew she would never finish or use...very cute quilt blocks she hand appliqued for a baby quilt for her grandson who will be 11 this month, craft items, fabric, all sorts of things. I can't wait to go through them today! Don't feel bad about your treasure find, it sounds like it went to the right person.

Great idea. Any way that it gets used and not wasted is a great idea

Wonderful find, but if you are already feeling overwhelmed you could pick out your favorite pieces of material and favorite quilt tops that you purchased then donate the rest to some of the charities you mentioned.

I love your idea of 'final distribution' of this bounty - just write it down so those you wish to receive it will...and blessings on you!

I'm trying to use my treasured fabric. I had a heart attack last year combined with other complications. Since then I have been quilting like crazy. Have made tons of pillow caes and quilts for project Linus. Can't die until everything is used up. I should last for years and years!

Yes you got a great deal and with your donations of some, you are doing the right thing.

There's nothing wrong with it!!! Use up what you can, and make sure people know who the excess is to go to, should something happen to you. Makes sense to me. And BTW, congrats on the great haul!!

dont feel bad maybe with out knowing it you made the lady happy just knowing that her fabric went to someone with a good heart and love to sew. Your idea of what to do with the fabric is a good one if you no longer can sew.
Enjoy the fabric and the lady what could no longer use it is happy to.
