I live right next door in Pleasant Hill. Welcome to a quilting neighbor. Are you in CCQG guild?

This should help you. It is how I learned to do binding, except I learned how to join the ends watching Nancy Zeiman.

this shows how to do individual bindings for each side of the quilt. she is doing two color binding, but just watch how she does the corners. I've done this in the past and may again. no miters that way. nor making continous binding for the whole quilt.

Thanks, I'd never seen this technique. Very helpful!

I always stop to read post about binding. I'm one the weirdos because I love to do binding. Doing the binding gives me a big "connection" to the quilt. I often help out my friends by doing binding for them. I can't stand to see their frustration levels when they do it. The quilt guild I belong to does a lot of Charity quilts and it is my pleasure to help with the bindings. I didn't have problems with my corners, but I had a lot of trouble with putting the ends together. I discovered "the binding tool" and my life became much easier. I love that little tool.

I hated to do binding, too. Then I happened on this website and now I enjoy doing them. They turn out so nice and I am pleased with them.

This is a great link for how to blind stitch the binding to the back of the quilt:

I have this same problem and never happy with my corners, I pay my la quilter to attach. I once saw a video and it was easy and it worked, think I can find it again...not even in my BM. It laid your binding out single thickens stitched down then flip your project over, fold the binding down again so it is at the edge of your quilt then lay over to sew by hand. You ran the first fold all the way to the end and brought it down as a miter and folded. Can't explain it..obviously or I remember exactly how it goes or I wouldn't still be paying to have it put on...somewhere is the tutorial.
