So I got my quilt all basted yesterday. I was planning to go to Joannes today to buy a needled that I can use to tie with yarn. Woke up to over a foot of snow! Grrrrrrrr!!!! I know I know I can just go tomorrow. Patience is NOT one of my long suits! LOL
OK rant over, thanks for listening David |
David, I know just how you feel! No snow here but the cold...goes right to the bone. I hate winter...period!
|
LOL!! I know many ppl are feeling your pain right now. Maybe it's time to start on a new quilt.
|
I feel your pain. We have a break between snow storms right now. We are suppose to have a three day storm the end of the week. I'm in Iowa.
|
Last year, we got 2 blizzards in a week! It was horrible! Dh and I are planning on moving to Florida after youngest son graduates this year. Yippee! No more blizzards and no more 70 mph winds!
I did manage to get a lot of quilting done last winter though! |
We are in TX. It was supposed to be 27 last night. Beautiful today.Blue skies and sunshine. About the FL. move, remember we have hurricanes down here .But at least it is not cold. Hotter than HELL and very little help from GOV.So, just be prepared.
|
Lol, I love my kids, but I'm itching to get back to work on some quilts on my cutting board...when does school start again?
|
We have had SNOW for around a month now.what a blessing,I can sit and sew and not feel guilty. I've had a tidy up,sorted the "to do's" into some sort order.
2011 could be the year of big things. All the best for the new year. God bless Margaret |
We have had snow quite a few times now and getting tired of shoveling it. Atleast we have a brake from it and the sun is shining today. It makes me feel good so I get a lot of sewing done.
|
I like the snow when it has not blowen all over the place. This last snow here in Iowa was pretty, except having to drive home after work Christmas Eve. A 45 min, drive took 1 hr 15 min. I feel for you on the east coast.

I hate snow too. But it is better than hurricanes, tornados, forest fires, earthquakes, etc. I love the spring, summer and fall in Michigan. I just have to live through the winters.
|
I too despise snow...along with everything winter related...cold, snow, ice, sleet, naked trees...I LOVE Spring and Summer I complain about winter but not the warm or hot months.
|
Moved to FL from WI over 2 yrs ago...and I've become a sissy when temps get to 30 deg! We've had some cold temps last two winters, but I still am thankful we aren't shoveling snow!
|
Thanks for reminding me. I'm originally from Okmulgee, now buried under this New England/East Coast blizzard, and I was thinking about moving SOUTH! Now the question is, just how FAR south do I need to go? The equator?? I'd better brush up on my Spanish!

Snow does have its downsides, (I'm in Wisconsin) but January is my favorite month. Almost no visiting, gardening, or etc., just plenty of time to sew!! :) Yippee!
|
Well I love snow, unfortunatly though I could not enjoy it because my husband had to be at the hospital at 6 this morning for a heart procedure, so I was shoveling snow at 4 am. Not my cup of tea. We made it fine though and now I am back home.
|
Oh, quiltingfan, I hope the procedure went well! Maybe you can enjoy the snow later??
I live in north Texas. I moved here to get away from snow. Last Christmas we had a real blizzard, and all the people who laughed at me when I told them I hate snow now understand what I meant. We were literally snowed in for four days. (I live in the country. You can't drive on roads that have 12 inches of snow, at least none of my cars could manage it and I was smart enough not to try. Many of my fellow Texans spent the night in a ditch.) |

OK rant over, thanks for listening David hope you got what you wanted----is there a special needle for tying? would like to know ,thanks |
I don't like snow either. It means I can't walk the dog (I fall easily and get super nervous- broken bones earlier in the year)and I love my morning constitutional.
Hope you get your supplies soon. Annie |

i guess overall, the weather in SW Ohio is ok....I like winter better than summer (can't stand the heat & humidity) it does snow, but rarely enough to shut things down. If we do get enough to close things down, it's for just a day.
I do love that generally by March, winter is usually over, and spring is coming!! Hobby Lobby has the gazing balls out and starting to put out the lawn & garden statues - warms my heart!! |
guess I must really be different as I enjoy the winter my favorite days is watching it snow with a pot of chili on the stove an apple pie in the oven and time in my sewing room we are suppose to be getting a big storm starting tonight but I am ready I don't care for summers to hot with lots of mosquitos

Get everything done today and tomorrow because come Thursday and Friday we are in for another one. It is supposed to go up to 38* on Thursday and rain - right at going home time! And then drop down in temp from water on the streets to ice skating time! We just got our alley plowed from the storm on Saturday! I have never been so shovel-sore in all my life. Happy New Year!!! Edie |
You could move to the mountains of N.Ga. We get about 2 weeks of real winter, long spring, fall, and summer. Really don't think I could do a Mich winter again....ever....long dreary, cold. This is God's country.
|
Here in FL we may not have snow but Hurricanes we get and if you think waiting out a snow storm is bad wait til you have to wait for all the electricity to be rerouted and turned back on! Just kidding, it is way better than snow!

Really sucks that you've got all that moisture and we really need some. Not that much, but still, we are so dry the wheat is almost gone.
|
That's why I live in Arkansas. When we get it, it's a treat!!!!
