I started a counted cross stitch of the last supper in 1991. There were 47 colors or blends. I called it my worry piece. I would work on it until I started making mistakes then I'd snuggle up in the recliner with my ripple crochet throw I was also working on because I didn't have to look at it to work it.
I like to have something easy to do when I'm to mentally drained to concentrate on 22 count cloth. ;) |
Nope...not crazy...just in good company. Birds of a feather, you know.
I can't help...3 Quilts for Kids in various stages. Pieces of a huge flannel turtle laid out on bed. Material for a wall hanging laid out and an old quilt to be quilted for a friend... Do have 3 finished Linus quilts laying across the couch!!
Sounds pretty normal around here, and you are having fun, right? piecefully, the old one
I think it is called therapy!!!
Haha, that indicates I'm in good company!!
I can't say a word!! I have as many or more projects at one time as you do. hehehe!! Actually I think it stops the insanity.

My Great Grandmother, who taught me more about quilting than anyone else, would have said: "You go Girl!" Honestly. She was like that. A simply awesome woman. And I must take after her because there isn't room here for my list of current projects, and never mind the ones piled up in my head! You go Girl! |
Geese sorry I can't help you I have more project going that that...... I get bored really easy so I have to work onmore than a few things at a time, and have machine sewing and hand work and crocheting to do when rideing while dh drives..
You are just in good company here... |

LOL On top of all of those projects I work full time |
SO funny, I'm glad to be in such good company, it's the same way here, always several projects going at one time....but such fun !!!
doing many things at once, makes for an interesting and definately NOT boring life.
Sounds normal to me. We just moved and my sewing machine and "stuff" are surrounded by boxes and furniture. I'm in withdrawal. And, my mind is planning new projects once my machine has been rescued. My projects are small(no quilt, yet) so maybe I won't have too many UFO's.
Nay, not crazy .... just a quilter LOL
Suzy |
Just remember, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! lol
I love a good cup of coffee and all my friends. I have never had coffee with so many friends at one time and I am still in my PJ's.
You're crazy, but, then, so am I! Join the club!
Like my sister says "at least we are not seeing a psychologist and quilting is cheaper.":)
I thought I was the crazy one---I work on one at a time and finish. I read where all of you work on numerous quilt projects at the same time---so that makes me feel like I am the crazy one since I'm all alone. Am I?
I LOVE having several projects going at the same time! I do that intentionally so I don't get bored! I have knit, crochet, quilting, embroidery and sewing projects going! You're in good company here! :)

OH NO! Are we kising cuzins? I never can settle on one thing. Drive one of my kids crazy asking me "Why don't you finish one thing before starting another.?" I have all kinds of excuses...run out of material, time, enthusiam for the subject and on and on. Always a reason. Can't be because we are crazy. LOL
well join the club LOL ... its an awesome club with a lot of awesome people !LOL
I have a project borad all projects in progress and they get erased when complete - only problem is for everyone erased I am alwasy adding one more :-)
You're not crazy and if you are you're in very good company. I just finished a baby quilt and 5 tote bags. I have a Christmas wall hanging partially done, another tote bag partially cut out, and 4-5 tops ready to be pinned and quilted. Then there is the fabric and patterns for 7 other projects just waiting to be started. Plus another baby quilt ready to pin and quilt.
no, your're not crazy, I do the same thing , I thought I was the only one that did this too, but after reading some of the responses I'm normal like the rest of you gals. My problem is I see something like a cute kit and I have to have it, I buy it then I forget I have it, so the pile gets bigger. I want to make sure I have something to do and believe me I have plenty to do.
I think that many of us do that. At last count, I have 5 quilts in different stages of being done and I have one quilt waiting in the wings for me to start it. (I'll start it as soon as I have 3 of them ready to be quilted. )
I just took one off of the machine quilting frame yesterday so I will clean up my area, oil my machine and then put another top onto the frame. :) |
Well, I am so jealous of everyone's projects. I just can't decide what my next project is so I don't have anything going on now. I look on this board every morning and find so many wonderful projects, but just can't get motivated. I need a good kick in the seat of my behind. Oh, I do have a bom going on but have to wait to the end of the month to work on that. I will find something soon or going out of my mind.
Don't think there are too many on the board that can help you, because most of us are working on several projects at once. Probably not a cure out there.
It would seem you are all having too much fun!!! Since I started my fabric business I have a lot less time to quilt, but I love playing with all the fabrics. Since I have no overhead, I can keep my prices low. I have fabric everywhere upstairs in my house and sometimes it trickles down the stairs into the living room. DH doesn't fuss too much. Happy Quilting!!!
I am so glad I'm not alone!!! :D Finally...some fellow artists that understand me and my strangeness...or then again maybe not-so-strangeness lol
No, not crazy, how about varity the spice of life... I too have many things going; finishing up Afro family hand outling quilted, crocheting dish cloths, my practice OBW, ready to quilt my Africa Quilt, sever wall hanging pieces. Now I really need to get the wall hanging made that was to have for my brother's 50th wedding anniversry back in July. Didn't mention that there are a few pieces of jewlery I am working on. Also now that we no longer have a so called uniform at work I have to find clothes that fit. What a shame.. Enjoy it all.
I'm in the same boat as you are!!!~ Welcome aboard.
I am in the very same boat with 8 quilts in different stages and me with Carpal Tunnel Syn. They are operating this coming tues. I love creating all these different quilts and can not seem to stop. Let me know if you find a solution.
I think we all have our moments of insanity - but we will survive

Well, lets see, I've got 1 twin, 3 lap and 4 Linus quilt tops done, need to get the backing and and batting for,(and then quilted), 1 table runner to finish, 1 king size log cabin I'm working on, two large totes of pieces of batting that needs to be pieced together. Oh yeah, and need to get started on mug rugs for Christmas.
So no, I don't think you are crazy, just in good company :) |
