I got an idea to make a fall quilt. But I was wondering if someone made it befor me or not. We sometimes think we come up wtih a new pattern but only to find out someone made it befor us.. So what do you think of this?

An other picture of the same

It's really pretty. At one of the Quilt Shops in town, they have a strippers club once per month where we get a pattern for making a quilt with 2.5" strips. The stars look like a pattern from a few months ago.

I love the french braid strips

So you're idea might not be 100% original but what matters is that you put various things together, and you'll personalize it with your colors and you're quilting

I like it! You would LOVE EQ! I t would save so much time with colored pencils! I hope you make this quilt and show us pictures. I really like the combo of multi-colored Ohio Stars with the French braids.

thismomquilts 09-11-2009 01:51 PM

Let's see it when you are done!! It will be wonderful!

mountain-moma 09-11-2009 01:55 PM

Wow that is pretty

CindyBee 09-11-2009 02:30 PM

I love your idea! Make it happen in fabric, and of course we need pics! It looks so scrappy and fall-ish. I say go for it!

TX_Cutie 09-11-2009 02:35 PM

Very pretty! I like the triangle border, too. It gives a nice festive look. :-)

quilter1962 09-11-2009 03:13 PM

Very nice, love your choice of colours in your design - are you going to go head & make it from this pattern?

Ninnie 09-11-2009 03:46 PM

sewsewquilter 09-11-2009 05:45 PM

SharonC 09-11-2009 06:41 PM

What a lovely design. I really hope you make it into a quilt and share it with us again.

amma 09-11-2009 07:21 PM

I love it!!! I can't wait to see it in fabric :D :D :D

Jim's Gem 09-11-2009 10:14 PM

That will look great. Can't wait to see it in your fabric

Quilt4u 09-12-2009 02:06 AM

Well I desided on the back ground color of the star blocks is going to be gold, and the red strips are going to be a dark red with gold in it. The boader is going to be a darkred red that will mathc the strips ,but with out the gold and has leaves on it. The braids and the stars are going to be scrapy, colors oranges, yellowes, reds, and browns. And maybe some dark green. But I only have enough fabric for a minature quilt. I'll have to make it a wall hanging.

scrappylouisa 09-12-2009 06:28 AM

I love your design. In my opinion I would add another row of the braid on the right side to balance out the design.

Bevanger 09-12-2009 06:42 AM

I love the pattern and the prairie points I think will make a nice finish.
I look forward to seeing the finished project and it would be fun to enlarge this to a full size quilt as well.

I think your combination of pioneer braid and stars is unique and very motivating to view.

It is going to be a beautiful quilt.

This was my second thought when I saw your design. My first thought was that it is beautiful. Would love to see pictures when it's done.

ctquilter 09-17-2009 06:19 AM

Sorry. I think I did the quotes thing wrong.

wraez 09-17-2009 07:53 AM

Your so funny. I feel like I'm always using the words beautiful/awesome/inspiring. Motivational....................good!

jojo 09-17-2009 07:50 PM

Where did you learn to do the braid. I would love to do that. j

Sheree from Chicago 09-17-2009 07:52 PM

What a great job mapping out your quilt! It looks like it is going to be a very colorful quilt. I think I agree with ScrappyLouisa about balancing out the rows of braiding (possibly adding to the right of the quilt). I think it's just a matter of choice. Some need to have things balanced (like my gardens or furniture arranging) and others are OK lopsided! LOL

What a nice combination of block/patchwork. So many times strippy quilts are the same block in a lightning format or set on point with triangles. Gives us all a new idea, too

foxxigrani 09-18-2009 06:40 AM

Go for it, it is a lovely quilt, can't wait to see it done, your colors sound great too. Love your choice.

Belles.hold 09-18-2009 08:56 AM

I agree with scrappylouisa, putting a braid on each end will make the quilt symmetrical. What a stunning quilt it will be with the color/fabric you've chosen.

nuttyhurricane 09-18-2009 02:59 PM

It all sounds good. So what if it doesn't cover your lap or a bed, it will still be beautiful. You have put plenty of thought and design into it.
