I just bought a long arm

Yes....I just bought a long arm quilting machine.....OMG I am still in shock (especially sticker shock)

I purchased the Innova 22in quilting machine. I was at the MQX quilt show in Manchester NH this past weekend and tried out all the machines, spoke to all the reps, bugged the devil out of all of them. Then made a decision.

The things that "won" me over for the Innova
1. the head rotates completely so that you can change feet easily
2. the roller bars have a different system than all the others, it gives the ability to be more fine tuned
3. The motor when hooked up to their lightening stitch regulator is nearly all digital, meaning more control on the regulator and also means the only oiling I need to do is to the bobbin area.

but the most important reason is because it called to me, when I put my hands on the machine it felt like home. I love the machine. Now have to wait 3wks or so for delivery, gonna be difficult!

Congratulations! There should be a chicken in every pot, and a longarm in every quilter's home! :D

ontheriver 04-14-2013 05:51 AM

OMG, so jealous! I dream of having a longarm but know it isn't happening for me. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!

dunster 04-14-2013 06:08 AM

Congratulations! I bought my 26" Innova before they came out with the new roll control system or the lightning stitch, both of which are wonderful enhancements, but it's still a great machine and I love it! Have you joined the yahoo Innova groups? There's lots of good information there. Have fun with your new machine.

cmw0829 04-14-2013 06:14 AM

Congrats!! I'm sure you will be sew happy with the machine. We were there and met all of the Innova folks. They are the nicest people. I looked at their sit-down but purchased a Tiara in Dec. I am so tempted to sell it and buy the Innova.

If you haven't, join the Yahoo group. The link to the group is on the Innova site.

Lucky you - waiting will be hard, won't it??

How exciting for you to get a long arm! I went to the show, too! Weren't they exciting to work with?!
Congratulations on your purchase!

Nilla 04-14-2013 06:47 AM

Wow! How exciting and wonderful!

I got a long arm in January. One piece of advice from learning the hard way.... try to work on your machine consistently until you really get your comfort level secure. I had several family issues that got overwhelming so I didn't use my long arm for about 6 weeks. When I finally got around to using it yesterday I struggled to remember some things. Luckily, I have a training session on it again in a few days, but I'll have to ask her to go over some of the basics that I was feeling comfortable with initially.

mighty 04-14-2013 06:58 AM

Congrats!!! They are beautiful machines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

omaluvs2quilt 04-14-2013 07:04 AM

Congratulations! Enjoy.

grandjan 04-14-2013 12:55 PM

Congratulations on your new "baby." You'll have a wonderful time with it. And make some beautiful quilts too!

hperttula123 04-14-2013 01:01 PM

The oiling was a big win for us too. That was so nice. The only other one that I thought was just as good as an Innova was the Gammill. They are very comparable to how well they run(just going off what I had seen from a quilting expo). You got the one bigger than ours and your going to be so happy with it. Congrats!!!

Luv Quilts and Cats 04-14-2013 01:19 PM

Congratulations! I hope you have fun with it! I live in Manchester, but couldn't get to the show this year.

Yaaaaay! Clapping my hands in joy for you!!

AggieNurse 04-14-2013 02:27 PM

Oh! You are going to LOVE your machine! I have a 22" with LS and pantovision, which I bought at the Houston Quilt Festival. It is so fun and the machine is so easy to use!

I second the yahoo group! It is full of information and has a lot of action! I also agree that you need to get in there and work on a daily basis. I try to do a little something every day, except when I don't have anything loaded. I have completed four quilts and have another loaded, just waiting on the batting to arrive.

Have fun with your new machine!:D

Congratulations! I am so happy for you. I have one too and it is a little intimidating but Sew Much FUN!!!

feline fanatic 04-16-2013 04:35 AM

Congrats. I have the 26 Innova. I also bought from At Home Quilting and bought Jeannie and Dan's demo model. The Lightening Stitch came out right after and while I have absolutely no regrets, I would love to have the lighteining stitch and am saving pennies for the upgrade.

Dan is super efficient. I am assuming you are having him come to your home to do the set up?? If not you may wish to consider springing for that. Makes a huge difference.

hudgoddess 04-16-2013 05:12 AM

Congratulations! If (when?) I get one, the Innova called my name too. The next few weeks will be so hard! Have fun when she gets there-don't be afraid!
Oh, and if you need some tops to practice on......

Oh so happy for you, I have looked at the big girls for several years and the Innova is my dream machine! I look at them all, but always come back to the Innova.....I think their customer service is without equal in the industry. Have fun and let us see a pic when she arrives!
