i've never had that problem.. my problem is when i have a really special fabric.. i don't want to use the last pc of it..
|
I am doing a quilt now that i love the material. I have taken a large piece and am making a lap quilt. I am putting other material around it to make a frame for it. The rest i am going to do the same except make smaller versions of the big one. It seems as if fabric talks and wants to be done in a certain way. If that makes since to you

Now as soon as I get the piece washed and ironed, before I put it in my stash, I cut a piece of it. That takes some of the fear out of cutting it in the future. |
I've made whole cloth wall hangings out of a couple of pieces that I just couldn't cut. They still make me smile every time I walk by them

Don't try to get over it, it will never happen! Use it as the center panel in a quilt or cut big squares or rectangles. Or just enjoy looking at it.
Ricky Timms said in a seminar I went to that we don't have fabric stashes, we have fabric collections because we have stuff that we will never ever part with. So true, so true. |

I share a lot of that feeling.....but then I get so excited to see what it would look like in a quilt.....I take a deep breath and start cutting.....It is always a surprise to me how the finished product will be!!!!

I do not know the answer as I have that same trouble. Maybe if we sewed something from it for our own home we could enjoy it. Laying in the drawer we are the only ones that can enjoy it.
