I sew mine on that way often and like the look of the binding hand sewed down to the front. It gives it more the handcrafted look.

Go with any of the above suggestions. Pics, please!

there is no set rule that a binding has to be sewed to the back. Only the quilting can decide where to start. Remember it is your quilt and get it out of the UFOs and get it done. A project done is what every quilter wants.

Hey, it's your quilt you can do it any way you want to. Especially when it saves a lot of ripping. I don't know of any one who says there is a LAW to do it one way or the other, just a tradition of sewing on the front and hand stitching on the back.

I do my bindings from back to front and use decorative machine stitch to secure. No hand sewing for me--lol.

I agree with tesspug........hand stitch it to the front.......we are the only ones that will ever know...........

I sew the bindings on all my quilt like you did trueruca. I sew then down to the front with either a decorative stitch or a straight stitch about 1/8" from the folded edge.

i use a blanket stitch and it looks like i went in by hand, but it's machine done. gives a very neat, great finish.
