Seems I've invented another mistake. Just can't believe I did this, sewed the binding to back of my quilt, now what of course my corners are great.It's now in my UFO pile to be dealt with when I'm in a better mind set. LOL.

Machine stitch the binding to the front! :) It might not look quite as clean as stitching to the front and hand-sewing to the back, but if your stitches are neat and/or you use a decorative stitch, it can be quite attractive.

I agree with Jennalyn, I do bindings that way when I am on a deadline. They look fine, especially if you use a decorative stitch that will look good from the back too or use bobbin thread that "disappears" into your backing fabric.

No law says you can't hand stitch it to the front. Keep you stitches small and even and pretend you wanted it that way.

I so agree with tesspu. When I first started my first two were done that way - worked fine/ looked fine!! Just go with it!

Don't rip it out, just stitch it down. I do all of my quilt bindings this way and I like it!

true... I wouldn't consider this a mistake. It's just another option! :thumbup:

Why not just hand stitch it to the front? Don't suppose there is a law that says it HAS to be machine sewn to the front, and stitched in the back. Don't know that it would make a whole lot of difference.

I have a. Friend who does this on purpose,so she can admire the quilt while she sews on the binding.

If you use a ladder stitch you won't be able to tell which side was hand stitched.
