It is at a fantastic price if you pre order. And if you have EQ5 and are registered you can get EQ7 for $130 by calling EQ at (800) 356-4219 and pre order. The charge won't go on your credit card until shipment date late June. The upgrade from 6 to 7 is $58 if you pre oder.

I can't wait to be able to take a picture of my fabric and have it in EQ, so much easier and faster then scanning and no color distortion. Anyone want my used EQ5 program (free) pm me. Just know you cannot register it with EQ for any updates, I already used the updates.

What a great deal!!! I just went and looked over EQ7, this version looks more user friendly than 6...and the new options  I wasn't planning on upgrading, but after reading all of this..... :D:D:D

shaverg 04-30-2010 10:06 AM

Just ordered will be shipped in June. Great price especially for the upgrade.

abrown27 04-30-2010 10:29 AM

What is an "EQ5". Thanks Ann

IrishNY 04-30-2010 11:05 AM

If you don't have EQ5, what is the preorder price for EQ7? Thanks!

stitchinwitch 04-30-2010 11:09 AM

------I just received an email advertising a special price at $140. I guess its not as special as $130! Thanks for the info!

IrishNY 04-30-2010 11:24 AM

What vendor is the email from?

BellaBoo 04-30-2010 11:35 AM

I order EQ only from EQ offical website. http://www.electricquilt.com/

$130 is the cheapest you will find EQ7 and that's upgrading from EQ5 to EQ7.

shaverg 04-30-2010 11:40 AM

EQ 7 is a stand alone. If you have EQ 6 is doesn't have to be installed to get the $58 upgrade + $8 for shipping You can get the upgrade it is a stand alone you just need to have your serial number from EQ6 to be able to load the EQ7 upgrade. You can run it on two computers at the same time as often as you want. They have made it so you can deactivate it on one if you need to load it to a new computer. As you can tell I had a long conversaton with them when I order my upgrade.

I can't wait to get the new one.

BellaBoo 04-30-2010 11:45 AM

If you have no EQ at all, the pre order price is $142. After May it will be $190.

IrishNY 04-30-2010 11:47 AM

I have EQ5 but it is not installed on my current computer. It was on one of my previous computers. Does the upgrade build on the EQ5 program that is installed or is EQ7 a program in itself?

shaverg 04-30-2010 11:49 AM

Irish. Stand alone.

Lacelady 04-30-2010 12:06 PM

I got the upgrade to 6 ( from 5), and now, thanks to Bellaboo, I have just ordered the upgrade to 7.

Might it be cheaper to go this route than buy a whole new 7? It might be worth emailing them first to enquire.

KiwiQuilter 04-30-2010 01:25 PM

I have EQ5 too. I'm thinking about buying a whole new 7 too.

I've just emailed EQ about the upgrade price (from 5 to 7) as it isn't published on their website. Depending on their response, will determine which way I fall :)

fabric-holic 04-30-2010 01:52 PM

I've had EQ6 for a couple years but I've never really used it. I just don't have time to go through all the lessons and videos etc.
I was thinking of selling it (it still has 2 installations) but now that EQ7 is coming out, maybe I'll keep it and try it again. Maybe 7 will be easier for me?
I went to the EQ website and wanted to watch the EQ7 video but it's not available yet.
I'll decide after I've watched it.
Maybe we should start an EQ7 thread here in July or August to help each other learn it?

the red wyoming rose 04-30-2010 07:20 PM

I would love the eq5 but I dont know how to pm rosefrench

the red wyoming rose 04-30-2010 07:21 PM

Im new at computers I may of said I would like the EQ 5 already but I dont know how to pm rose french

SuzyM 04-30-2010 07:25 PM

I am going to have to get it. I like that you can drop motifs onto the quilt instead of having to use the layer one and layer two.

sharon b 04-30-2010 08:12 PM

I want my kids to get it for me for Mothers day and my birthday, I will have to remind them so they can get the good price

Boscobd 04-30-2010 08:21 PM

My husband just placed an order for EQ6 for my birthday and was offered a pre-order of EQ7 at $142 if I could wait until June. They said EQ7 would be $189 if ordered when it was available. I can wait! I don't have any version of EQ, so this will be a fun thing for me.

nursie76 04-30-2010 09:03 PM

I just ordered the upgrade from EQ 6 to 7 this morning (opps, yesterday morning here on the east coast.) I can hardly wait! I have just begun learning 6 which I got for Christmas, this version sounds more user friendly and has the kaleidoscope feature too. I also like the more user friendly installation and multiple computer feature.

Do you get the "how-to" manual with 7 like you did with 6?

Prism99 04-30-2010 09:47 PM

Rose,

To PM, first click on the person's name to the left of his/her post. That will bring up a page of information that includes "Send PM" in blue. Click on that to send a private message to the person.

Someone has probably already PM'd you with this info. To check your private messages, click on "Private Messages" at the top right header.

Crafty1 05-01-2010 03:27 AM

Thanks to BellaBoo, I just placed my order for the upgrade! While I'm waiting for it to arrive, I will be updating my fabric library so that means taking lots of pics :)

sandpat 05-01-2010 05:45 AM

Now I have to go check this out!!! I recently upgraded from 5 to 6....(big sigh...should have done more homework before doing that obviously)

What are the major differences between 6 and 7??? The one BIG thing that pushed you over the edge to buy 7???? (And yes, I'm going to look at the website now, but I was wondering what YOUR take on it was...what made it worth the $ for you???)

How recently sandpat, maybe you should give them a call and they may work with you.

Diana 05-01-2010 06:25 AM

Thank you, for the heads up.
I ordered today.
Great new features.
Diana

I like the idea of being able to take pics of my actual fabric and play with them in the design, as I have never been able to scan in - my scanner is attached to my very elderly computer that I don't use any more. But the biggy for me is that it's transferrable to any computer for life! Having moved EQ from elderly computer to laptop to new netbook, I had run out of moves.

Nah...I bought it off of ebay and I've used it some, just not a ton as I haven't really had the time lately to go through the lessons. It sounds like the pre-order $ for the upgrade is pretty darn reasonable...

It really is. I have always bought the upgrades since the early 90's I think then I got an upgrade for $39. This is the most reasonable I have seen it. Definitely worth it. I can't wait. I don't use mine as much as I should. So each time I open it I have to basically start from scratch. Hopefully this will be a little less complicated. I still love it.

SewExtremeSeams 05-01-2010 07:53 AM

Thanks for the info I will have to check into this.

jdavis 05-01-2010 10:40 AM

Thanks for posting the info! I'm not planning on the purchase, but it's nice to have the upgrade rates posted like this.

Sarah CA 05-01-2010 11:03 AM

What are the major differences between EQ 6 and EQ7? Thanks, Sarah

I have EQ6 but haven't been able to use it much. I don't seem to "get it". Is version 7 any easier to use?
Deloris

Anne T 05-01-2010 03:23 PM

Hi, I would very much like to have your EQ5. Will gladly pay the postage. I am retired so this would be so welcome.

Quaint Quilter 05-01-2010 04:40 PM

Would love to have EQ7!

sandpat 05-01-2010 04:59 PM

Well, I ordered it too...it will be worth the upgrade price based on the 10 reasons they listed on the web site. I DO love the program!

Oklahoma Suzie 05-01-2010 06:08 PM

I just got 6, and can't order 7 yet, just don't have the money for it.

lucylockett 05-01-2010 06:12 PM

Thanks for the info! I agree that it is too good a deal to pass up. Just went to EQ and ordered version 7. Yeah! After all I am a good mother, grandmother and my kids want me to be happy. Plus, my hubby says, "Whatever."

If you have EQ5 registered with EQ then you can buy EQ7 for $130. It's the whole new program. If you have EQ6 you can get EQ7 for $58.
