You have been truly blessed. To have a quilting friend is wonderful!
What a breath of fresh air for you. God will bless her richly for her generosity!
Wow! That is amazing and so wonderful!
This message board has helped a lot of us, from this board I found a new quilting buddy to quilt (we're sending fabrics back and forth), with. Everyone is VERY nice and always helpful. I love being around SO MANY kind and loving people. So I count myself VERY LUCKY!!!!

About 3 years ago, I went to visit my son and daughter in law in AZ. I'd contacted a quilter on sisterquilters, so she came to meet me, took me quilt shop hopping and out to lunch. The next time I went there, she came to visit. I went with my son and daugher in law on a cruise to Alaska and then spent a couple of days in Seattle after they returned home. One quilter drove 90 miles to come and see me, take me shopping and out to dinner. Another picked me up at my hotel, took me fabric shopping, out to lunch and to AMTRAK where she helped me to get all my "stuff" on the train. My son was a little afraid about leaving me in the care of strangers........strangers??? They were quilters - the best people in the world. I've kept in touch with all of them since then, too!!

this site and the people on here have helped me keep my sanity. i am thankful everyday i can come here and find such warm and wonderful people.

Great story and such a wonderful insight into quilters and their kindness. Just started on this site and have PM'd with some closer members, hope someday we can plan a little quilting get together.
I too have found a new friend on this board, even tho I am in Amarillo, TX & she is in California. I look forward to our daily e-mails and have enjoyed sharing tips and such. I agree that quilters have big hearts for sure & most of us truly enjoy sharing. Thanks for sharing your wonderful post!

She has taught me a lot by sending me tutorials and advice. I don't know how I ever got this far in life without her! She is my sister in Jesus Christ and I love her very much! I've met another wonderful woman on this board that I share emails with. I feel like everyone of you are friends I haven't met. I shared about my DD when she lost the baby and was overwhelmed by your prayers. |
I would love to have a quilting friend. I love reading all of the things on the board.
My daughter doesn't sew, couldn't care less. My sister sews but doesn't like it much. One out of two grandaughters likes sewing but is 16 and busy with friends. So I am alone with my love of sewing and quilting. |

If you do shed tears, I am sure they are humble ones of joy! You are praiseworthy!!!!! God Bless!

I, too, find this board so friendly and nice! My experience with quilters is BIG since I joined our guild years ago and have met so many nice people who quilt. They share more than any other group of artists I have known. A lot of "artists" keep their techniques secret, but quilters share knowledge, fabric, tools, and most of all they share themselves and their love. I am glad you have this new fried. God bless quilters!!! |

A woman that I met here on this board is turning into one of the nicest people I have ever met....upon talking through a few emails, she invited me to a guild workshop, lunch, and to a shop hop. She offered to do all the driving, and refused gas money(no small thing is this day and age)...she has openly shared her life with me, her passions, jokes, laughter, and her sorrows...even some of the mistakes she has made...she is so transparent and is such a kind and fun person. And just last night, out of the clear blue, she called and insisted that she come over and help me with the "wild hair" that hit me last week....one of my son's is getting married this Saturday....I decided I had to have 72 Friendship Album blocks ready for the guests to sign. (I will set them into a quilt top while they are on their honeymoon)......she will be coming tomorrow (and is bringing fresh eggs from her hens)....and all because she just wants to help..I mean, she isn't getting anything out of the deal....just wants to help.... And I am amazed...........I have looked for this attitude in friends before, and not found it. Only in quilters have I seen this unabashed desire to help, be a blessing, console, and encourage. So, to all of you here, who spread your positive encouragement, your smiley faces :-), your laughter and caring attitude... This quilter says thank you.......it is you quilters who have "restored" my faith in mankind....... |
I have met some real nice ladies on mesage boards and we keep in touch which I really cherish. :)
I, too have made some wonderful friendships on this board.
What a wonderful post. |
We have a lot of people like that here in Minnesota Nice. Glad you found some with a good heart.
Ditto, Ditto, Ditto. I have directed other quilters to this site and they love the people here too.
I agree! I've had a few moments where I've misjudged someone and they've been horrible to me and my family. When I feel like maybe I want to reach out again - its to a fellow quilter!!! Is it in the genes?
I'm glad you all are there! |

What beautiful people you both must be. Sometimes it is the littlest things that bring so much joy. It was meant to be for the two of you to find each other. May your friendship last forever.
You are both lucky to have found one another.
Quilters are the best!
Ditto!! I have made quilting friends online and they are just wonderful. Quilters are the best for sure!!!

What a great story! And i agree with you! I am a newbie on the board and I was amazed at how many nice things get passed around between everyone. I've decided its because quilters aren't about judging someone's work but interest and constant desire to learn a new technique. That mentality doesn't leave room for negativity!
Nice to be among the quilters on qb. like being yourself without being judged or any unkind words. Thanks
