Sorry about the breaking of your ruler.....that's the bad news.

The good news is that you didn't hurt yourself! The plastic it thick and can be very sharp when broked and could have resulted in another "I'll laugh about it later" quilter's story!

I dropped two of mine on the corners and broke off a piece of the corner I know how you feel. I just turned them around use other side now. But I did buy 2 new ones.

For those of use who are life long klutzes it's hard to tell when you do something stupid. My husband just shakes his head.

 HOw maddening! YUP, we all do things like that and usually while cleaning! I say DO NOT CLEAN A QUILT ROOM? ok, that is a bit nutty. But....

I am happy for you that you didn't sit on an open rotary cutter my friend. ok, think positively right?

Directly behind my chair at my sewing table is my ironing board so I can pivot in my chair to reach. However, i sometimes get up to press several pcs and put my ruler in my chair. I n order to prevent the same catastrophy you just experienced I intend to sew a back rest pillow for said chair with a pocket system as a counter weight that falls to the back of my chair so I can slip my ruler or rotary cutter there. Now, watch me try to slip my iron there instead!!

I am so sorry to hear that! I gasped so loud that my husband asked me what I did! So you know how bad I feel for you. Hope you get yourself a new one soon.
