Okay everyone, I was inspired by a different thread to get everyone's reason for loving the Quilting Board. I can't wait to hear everyone's answer.
I love QB because it is the BEST motivator and helps me fill in the slow hours of the day at work (when I have to be away from my sewing machine). :) |
I love it because the people are so friendly and helpful. It's like having an online family! And let's not even get started on all the quilt ideas I've gotten from here....
I agree with Buckyfan and Raggiemom-I'm able to surf a little when I have nothing to do at work and everyone is so friendly. Not to mention the ideas that start to go on in your head about more and more quilts. Makes you really start to be come....creative! :)
Hugs to all my new found friends. Thanks!! Angie |
whew! I am so glad to hear I'm not the only one that scans this board while at work!
I love all the inspiration! |
It's peaceful. I've only been here for a few weeks but I haven't seen one fight!
I work in my home and when I am not working I am babysitting grandkids.
It is my only outlet for quilting. It has great friends and good ideas to get me motivated. |
You lot are almost the only quilters I know, so everything I learn now is either inspired by, or directly from you! I usually browse at home, but when my workday is just awful I like to come here to remind myself that I'll get to go home soon and be happy again!
I love it because people make you feel welcome and no question is too daft to get a constructive answer. The search button is fab too. I only wish we had one like this in the UK bcause so many of you seem to get together.
meeting friendly people; help with anything related to quilting; inspiring me to try new things; providing motivation to get to my UFOs; offering great tutorials & other quilt site info; confinming that quilters are such nice folks; next best thing to actually quilting!!
I love it because everyone is so generous in sharing their ideas and creativity. And because of the wonderful tutes and shortcut methods given. Thank you everyone!
I love it for all the advise I have gotten and the people on the board who are the best, always ready to help and share their wealth of knowledge with everyone.
I love the quilting board because I'm inspired by all the beautiful work people do. I love it because of all the information that is shared. I love the friendly, helpful and supportive people here.

I like pix of projects and pets!
There are so many nice people here!
I've been a loner with a longing all my life. I feel a part of this warm and wonderful group of people who accept me just as I am. I can sit here with whatever I wish, coffee, clothes or just my puppy and enjoy your help, humor and humble generosity. I feel so blessed to have met you all. I'm connected. Thank You. Ruth
I love the wealth of information, the warmth of the wonderful men and women and a place to go if you just need a shoulder to lean on. Thanks everyone
I love the QB because of all the wonderful people. I can learn so much from everyone that I don't have to spend money on classes....which gives me more money for fabric :D :D
I love the QB for all the advice given to this newbie. From choosing fabrics, to thread, to color choice. It's all here. And if it's not, it's because I haven't asked! Thanks for being...
I love QB because I'm a newby and it's opened my eyes to all kinds of things about quilting: questions (complete with answers), problems (complete with proposed solutions), techniques like bargello, cathedral window, and SO many more (complete with tutorials and links to other sites), etc. Who knew there were so many different techniques, so many ideas, and so much info out there?
Each day, I read the threads that contain technique info that I should absorb. (I read pages and pages.) For dessert, I look at every photo. They inspire me to keep building my skills until the day I can make something really special. (I'm almost at the end of Volume 1 of Harriet and Carrie Hargrave's book series, The Quilter's Academy, and I'm taking the 4-Seasons Beginners Bargello course at quiltuniversity.com - both of which I learned about on QB! ) I honestly don't think I'd have the patience to be so deliberate if it were not for seeing, every day, the fantastic quilts y'all produce! With gratitude, Sue |
I love the QB because it brings me in touch with wonderful people who share the same hobby as me. They are supportive, funny, encouragers, that don't scold me when I blow the bank at the fabric store!
I like it so much, everyone is friendly and helpful. I have written and book marked so much info in 3 months, it is like I took a class for a semester. It is the greatest.
camaraderie, inspiration, encouragement, motivation, generosity, friendliness, uplifting, gratifying and a sense of community with people who share the same passion that I have for quilting :D   8-)
I love the pictures for inspiration, the tutes for knowledge, the helpfulness if someone is stuck, and the funnies that are posted for a daily laugh. I also love the support for the lonely or those with emotional needs and the CLASSIFIEDS that feed our habit!
There is no way I would have access to all the websites, info do you realize when you are searching for an answer that at any given moment 600+ people are searching for you? Many people here inspire me to do things for folks other than family. You cannot be apart of this board without becoming a better person! and one of the most amazing things is meeting people from all over the world!
Great comradery-
First off, there are so many wonderful people on this board!!!! Second, it's full of quilters....the other people I know, do not understand my fabric addiction and probably think I'm crazy.
I love QB best for the eye candy!!! That's what really got me started here, just looking at all the pretty pictures. Then as I read all the words of encouragement, compliments, and advice, I realized what a wonderful, caring community this was, and I just wanted to be a part of it. There is so much I haven't even delved into yet, [still looking at pictures..LOL]but the ingenious way this site was set up to allow anyone to find anything just by a simple search, and the tutorials that you all have put together are just astounding. No one ever needs a quilting magazine again after finding this site. There is not enough time for any one person to make as many quilts as have been shown, and shared here. So even tho eye candy is my favorite part of this site, all of the wonderful members are what makes it the best QB out there.
I love it because everyone so helpful and friendly and I have learn sooooooo many things about quitling.
Ada |
I love the QB because I now know about mug rugs, foot warmers, and Bow Tuck Tote bags. and for CraftyBear and others who give me great links to other wonderful projects to make for my family and friends. and it's just a nice, friendly place to visit after a long day at work. Thank you all.
I love QB because it is a place where kindered spirits are drawn to like moths to a flame. I spend a few minutes each day reading different topics and it makes me feel good inside knowing that there are so many others that are just like me. Have a blessed day.
The people are so helpful and friendly. No one seems to mind sharing their knowledge.
...they can relate, I know very few people under the age of 80 that sews, except for on QB.
The beauty, knowledge and strength that I fine in the women and men on this Board is amazing. It motivates me, makes me want to be a better person and a better Quilter.
I love seeing the work that everyone is doing...and not all of it is perfect! Most quilt pictures on the internet belong to teachers or prize winners, etc. I will never be able to match their work. There are folks on the board that I can feel equal to and relate to. We're just 'plain folks who make quilts.
I love the ideas and the people on here. I love that I can connect with people around the world and see what quilters everywhere are doing. I love that I can share or ask questions and get lots of feedback and answers. Just plain old LOVE it on here! : )
Inspiring. Helpful. Friendly. Informative. and much more!
I love the QB because of the nice, friendly people who always help everyone with their problems, for all the tips I read that have helped me, for mentioning Quilts for Kids which I wouldn't have know about otherwise, for all the pictures of the beautiful quilts that everyone makes and for little jokes that help make everyone's days a little brighter. You all are a great bunch of people! Thank you!
I love this QB! The only drawback is I spend way too much time checking things out & not enough time quilting! But I do get inspired & am looking forward to a great year of getting some of my UFOs actually finished.
Because, if you have a need to know something; the answer is here somewhere!! I never cease to be amazed at the far reaching depth and diversity in the knowledge here!! Quilting info is amazing, everyday joys and problems too. I love it. :-D
