Hi guys, I am looking for an easy quilt design for my sister. She likes simple, refined things. She is a minimal person and I don't want to overload her with alot of pattern. Any suggestions? The fabrics I have are an understated yellow pattern, with blue flowers and light green leaves on cream background, and I have cream solid.

Dianna, how about a disappearing 9 patch? It's a simple to do unique looking design. Here's a good tutorial to make it. You could use your floral for the outside corners, the leaves between them, and the solid for the center sq that will make the little patches when it's cut apart. Good luck.

I'd go modern look, square in a square, maybe Stacked coins, google modern quilts they are usually simple and easy to put together.

Warm Wishes!!! You can use 4 or 5 fabrics. Great if you have a nice focus fabric or two that you want to use. Goes together really really fast too!

Pieces of Eight is an easy pattern that consists of cut squares, 8 1/2", that are sewn together from co-ordinated
fabrics. When I made it, my daughter (30 yrs. old) who likes "clean lines" claimed it the first time she saw it. Good luck! |
Thanks so much for this suggestion...:)
