well right now I need to finish the two memorial lapquilts I'm working on and then I want to try my hand at some log cabin blocks and some bear paw/tracks blocks. I just can't decide on what to do next! I see so many patterns I want to do and I just get adult add or something trying to decide! I just started quilting this past year and I am absolutely addicted! I want a bumper sticker for my truck that says "If more people quilted we wouldn't need therapists!" Now nothing against therapists but quilting has been such good therapy for me! We've been slammed with everything possible (I think) in the last 3 years and last year when I started quilting is when my perspective on things started changing. Now when things are rough I quilt, it takes my mind off problems I can't solve and gives me something to do plus I'm making something that will be useful. I do need to start hitting the thrift stores up and see what I can find. I checked one goodwill near me but there was nothing and I've never seen them have a sale. There is a Value Village in Charlotte though and as soon as I can I want to go up there and see what they have. maybe next week....

How does one find fabric on Ebay? Any info would help me in getting some fabric. Thanks. Good thoughts

Don't bother with re-sale shops....too expensive. I look for shirts, dresses, sheets, and anything that has a print. Some items are a low as 25 cents, not bad for approx.1 yard of fabric. I also asked my friends to check their scrap/rag bags for any "non-stretch" fabric that was not stained (bold I know) but they are great friends that know how much I love to quilt. I was supprise, in a period of 2 weeks, I found a great stack of cute prints on my desk when I got to work. No matter what I make, it will be a true "frindship quilt" because of the great people that donated the fabric. They would all prefer to see a beautiful quilt instead of a rag used to check the oil dipstick on the car :)

sometimes men's shirts have a lot of fabric in them

I have done that also. I'm not cheep - just broke! I get a great thrill out of making beautiful things for as close to nothing as possible.

They carry the red rooster brand....have some for $2.99 yard. Hope this helps? How about posting on craigslist ?

I do work in a LQS and love it! I get to fondle the new fabrics as they come in the door. Then I cut fat quarters, fold them, put the bolts on the shelf...it's just play, play, play! One of my friends said, "I couldn't work there. I'd spend my paycheck." I said, "Pay check? You mean I'm supposed to get paid to be there?"
