I have a GE that I paid less than $20 for at WalMart several years ago. It is a workhorse and I love it. I also love my Rowenta, which was made in Germany. It cost a lot more than $20.
I am very careful with both of them to empty the water from them every night after the sewing and pressing is done. froggyintexas |
I have the Oliso. I have loved it, but I think it's about to die. I have had it for several years. Lately, I have to jiggle the cord a little bit to get power to flow to the iron. Thanks for starting this thread. I need a new iron too, but I can't afford to put a lot of money on it. I don't want a cheap iron from Wal-Mart.

Take a look at the dry iron in Vermont Country Store - good and heavy, nice quality, $30. |
I like the inexpensive ones with automatic turn off!
I think they are safer! |

I have a Rowenta and a Shark. I love my Shark, got it at Walmart or Target, can't remember which one.

Because of arthritic problems, I purchased a small, lightweight Rowenta about 4yrs ago and love it. The only time it spits water is when I overfill it. Being a small iron it doesn't hold a lot of water and needs to be filled more often than the Black&Decker I've had for 10 yrs. Have always used distilled water.
