Got up this am and started to go toward the computer and and then told myself 'no'. So before I opened this site I have stripped the beds and washed sheets and blankets, made a loaf of bread and had brunch. And now while the sheets are drying, I am going to enjoy my self here. How's that for will power????

Up North 01-12-2011 11:23 AM

You have WAY more than me!! Good for you! I have been going to bake bread for two weeks, nope not today!

LoisN 01-12-2011 11:23 AM

I'm in awe!

dforesee 01-12-2011 11:23 AM

It's more will power than I have, that's for sure. Kudo's to you ... you're setting a good example for us computer junkies.

Cyn 01-12-2011 11:24 AM

WAY TO GO! That is will power. I ran errands that I had been putting off for weeks before I got close to the computer in case it sucked me in again today.

hobo2000 01-12-2011 11:25 AM

I did the same thing and finished 21 blocks out of 49 for my son's quilt. YaHoo!

craftybear 01-12-2011 11:25 AM

good girl, you did good, I need to wash sheets today, be back later on and do some housework, see you motivated me to get some housework done

Happy Treadler 01-12-2011 11:26 AM

Way to go!

Ohhh, THAT'S my problem. I get on this darn computer and wander around when I should be working (or quilting!). I think I read more about quilting and if I'd just stop and quilt I'd get a lot more done. SO easy to waste time here, especially on THIS forum where there's such great information. Hey, at least I got ONE load of laundry done today. And one proposal for work.

Guess it's time for me to walk away now...

Up North 01-12-2011 11:28 AM

OH no you are not wasting time! You are earning a degree in quilting!

Happy Treadler 01-12-2011 11:35 AM

Oh, I gotta tell my husband THAT one!! ROTFL...

(I'm really going now...)

amma 01-12-2011 11:39 AM

Now THAT is will power :D:D:D

lovingmama 01-12-2011 12:10 PM

Woo hoo, celebrate with quilting a little bit, you deserve it!

Mariposa 01-12-2011 12:44 PM

Way to go!!

Tropical 01-12-2011 12:46 PM

Good for you! Today must be the cleaning day because I told my husband I was not even thinking about doing anything until I had gotten some housecleaning done. So I did laundry, dusting and vacuuming and washed all of the glass tables. My husband helped by vacuuming all of the carpet in the house. Now, I'm enjoying a cup of coffee and reading as many posts here as I want to without feeling guilty.

clem55 01-12-2011 12:57 PM

Got out of bed, made bed, got dressed, took out dog, made coffee first, does that count?LOLO

Happy Treadler 01-12-2011 01:17 PM

Ya know, I forgot I DID put a roast in the crock pot this morning. I think that counts as 'cooking all day'. ha ha

thequilterslink 01-12-2011 01:30 PM

You are my Hero!

Anna O 01-12-2011 03:06 PM

pat, pat, pat - that should feel good, you deserve it!

dkabasketlady 01-12-2011 03:19 PM

You have more willpower than I do. This is the first place I come to in the morning and I get back on after dinner every night. I'd get a lot more done too if I could stay off here more, but I'm not complaining, it's the BEST place to be.

MommaDorian 01-12-2011 03:29 PM

I did it too!! I cleaned the bathroom, loaded the dishwasher, and cleaned out the cat litter boxes. :) You go girl!!!

LOLOLOLOL! Love it!

And a huge pat on the back to OP. I really need to start setting time limits on here. I'm getting nothing done. Work all day and come home and log on here and I'm still here hours later. Not getting any quilting done.

8a.m.,
get out of bed to potty,
one hand turns up the thermostat, the other turns on the computer,
get back in bed to get warm,
wait for DD to call me on her way to work,
read and doze til 9a.m.
That's my morning and I'm sticking to it. :-o

Good for you!

plainpat 01-13-2011 02:44 AM

Hey,if we're on here, who said we have to quilt? Isn't that just a pesky detail? :-)

piepatch 01-13-2011 03:57 AM

If you can do all that BEFORE you get on this forum, you DO have will power ! I'm impressed !

Ellie'sNana 01-13-2011 05:41 AM

Wow! You have inspired me. I'm going to follow your example - tomorrow!!

eimay 01-13-2011 05:55 AM

You have more control than I have. I should be headed to work and here I am.

arimuse 01-13-2011 06:01 AM

What do u use for a bread recipe?? I like the artisan breads cus all u do is throw all the stuff in a bowl, stir and later bake. I need a bread stone! Also, I have to laugh, the stereotype is - women sitting around all day eating candy and watching soaps! well, soap watching has dropped so much soaps are almost gone! we sit on our computers now! Right now I should be upstairs moving furniture out to redo my sewing room (I have to scrape off a popcorn ceiling and paint the whole thing, then Ill make curtains, pillow shams, bedspread). Im home alone and have bought those little grey discs u put under furniture feet - you can be 90 lbs and move mts w/ those things! SO still doesnt get how I can move things - he thinks Im the Incredible Hulk! (He doesnt know about them!)

denilynne 01-13-2011 06:05 AM

I bow to you, lol i'd get alot more done if i'd stay off here too, but i love you guys so much fun here

mdollar 01-13-2011 06:31 AM

Awesome!

BTW, do you have a really good bread recipe? I want to try to make bread using a friend's bread machine but I need a really good recipe that my hubby will like so that I can sell him on making our own bread. I would love to have a good whole wheat/whole grain type recipe as we don't eat white bread that much. Thanks in advance.

OK, ever feel like you're being monitored in regards to how much 'computer time' you're having?

I had a funny feeling this morning...
