I think "open" edges would also be interesting - it takes the eye in a different direction than with "closed" circles -
Either way - It would take an even number of rows to get the outside "the same" all the way around. |
Love your quilt design … making great progress!

I've gotten a lot of neat border ideas looking at the free patterns from equilter.com. They have a lot of panel designs with pieced borders, so they could be adapted for your quilt.

The current layout (is it complete?) would drive me nuts because the design on one side is "open" and on the other side is "closed" I am a fan of piano keys; which would look great here after the "float" border. I also thought of another layout: putting the new pieces on the left and top, which would create complete circles. I don't know if you would like that. It's your quilt. |
And I didn't read till the end, Bear. I think I came to an Ad and thought that was the end. So others had the same idea. That's great.

You have to read her post more carefully.

Check out the flying geese border Donna Jordan used on her log cabin quilt. I can't wait to make one with it!

This is one quilt that does not demand a border ... and would look great borderless!!
So, why not make more blocks? |
I am in the "no border" camp! That's a beauty!

Personally I like it the way it is if you want it bigger just add more blocks and maybe a colored binding. Also I would like the pattern can you tell me what it is and maybe where to get it. Many thanks
