We're practically quilting twins! Me too, for the first time yesterday when I rolled the cutter right into the side of my thumb! Still able to sew tho! Always wondered why so many warnings when with a little care and consideration.....NOW I know.

So long as you didn't bleed all over your fabric! Sympathies really .... :-(

Have not cut myself with the rotery cutter yet, but I have sewed my finger nail and just the tip of my finger also.

So sorry about your mishap!! But now you have been initiated!

Please take care of the boo boo and when was the last time you had a tetanus shot? (Sorry, the nurse thing ya know, ;-) )

It only took me getting cut once before learning that I had to close my cutter every single time.

Congratulations on becoming a "real" quilter! Now take good care of your cut. :)

I am jealous....haven't got the rotary kiss yet!
Nor have I completed a quilt worthy of showing....
How long before I am a real quilter....guess I need to buy more fabric and a new rotary cutter!!!!!

Sorry for the short post - it is hard to type with no index finger.

Just a nick - but darn it!!! :)

Ouch! Welcome to the true quilter's club! I know how that hurts. I've done it, sliced away and wondered why my finger hurt. DUH!!! But super glue worked great and I was back to cutting and quilting in no time.

Haven't cut my fingers or any other part of me but my little grandson picked up the cutter, i gently took it away, and a few seconds later looked at him and he had blood all over his face, hair, etc. One deep cut on a finger. Was able to get some steri-strips on it and a pressure bandage. That was his first band aid and he showed it off with pride. the cut healed and I learned a big lesson. My cutters are all closed and when the little ones come over they are up high and out of sight.
