Wait - I can't believe it - are you sure you are a quilter? I don't think I have ever met one who didn't have at least 1 UFO (LOL)

the fabric is gorgeous and will make a wonderful OBW - to me the piecing on these is the easy part. Getting the fabric, cutting it and then figuring out your block placements are the had parts.

I've worked with that exact fabric for this exact purpose!
Sounds like this is a popular fabric! I actually bought the whole bolt - partially because I wasn't sure exactly how much I'd need, and also because I wanted leftovers! But there were still 2 more bolts of it left behind...a couple of you said your Joann's was out - I'm pretty sure you can still buy it online. I "borrowed" the picture off of their site so I know it was still listed a day ago! The store might be able to order more too. :) I'm excited to be putting something into the fair. I have absolutely no idea how critically the quilts are judged - if it's judged by real quilt critics I probably won't win anything; my bindings are always a little screwed up and I don't follow a lot of "rules". But I really don't care about getting a ribbon - it'd be nice if I did but I'm doing it for the experience, and to make myself put myself out there on display a little bit. This will be the first time I've ever entered anything into anything like this even though I've considered myself an artist for years and have had lots of encouragement about my work. So I decided to break the ice with a quilt as a personal growth sort of thing. *I* will win no matter what! But of course I want to do my best and create a quilt I will be proud of when people I know see it. :) And of course I will post pictures! It'll be awhile though, today is (hopefully) the last day of flooring installation, then I can empty my sewing room and redo IT! I have two new tables and a whole bunch of new storage to go in there; I can't wait! |
It will be a beautiful and happy quilt. I sure hope you post pics when it is done

I just finally got around to uploading and posting a bunch of pics of the quilts I made for Christmas; here's one of the first (and so far, only) OBW I did for my sister. I had pics of it up before when it was in progress, asking for layout help, so some of you might recognize it...here's how it finally came out!
