I agree, a great feeling! From the minute they're born, we want to please them, I think. Congrats on your son's terrific reaction to your offer!

I have a grandson graduating from high school this year and just yesterday decided to make him a black and white with splashes of purple (school color) quilt, and will include some musical note fabric (he's a member of the percussion section of the high school band and plays a mean marimba!). It may not bowl him over at first but I think/hope he'll come to treasure it in years to come. It won't be his actual graduation gift, just a gift from my heart.

I made a lap size one for our son's boot camp graduation. Now he's out and wants a larger one for his bed. I have just barely started cutting it out. Gotta love 'em. :)

I am making my GS, who is almost 17, this quilt. The picture is from EQ so the fabrics are only approximate.

Hi libby2595,Isn't it great when your other half appreciates what you make.By the way here in the U.K a boob tube is what we call a strapless elasticated top :) The T.V. is known as the idiot box !!! The way the programmes are dumbing down that title is about right. X

Outstanding! The best I get from my at-home son is a shrug (but then again, he's 15 so that comes with the territory!) LOL

I've made a couple of quillows for someone going overseas. The first one was a surprise. The second one was requested. Seems like he was able to use it as a pillow, but it was too short to use as a quilt. He likes to tuck his feet into the pocket and be able to cover his eyes with it. Some times it's great to get requests.

He raced cars all his life and he had lots of car t-shirts. I made him a t-shirt quilt for his bed with white shirts on one side and black on the other. He loves it and shows it to everyone that comes into his room. In learning more about him and his life, I don't think anyone ever gave him much, a good part of his life he lived like the homeless. He still says he could leave the nursing home and live in the back of his truck. Anyway, it warms my heart to know he really appreciates his quilt.

A lovely story. He's very lucky to have you in his life, especially as it seems he has always been alone. Bless you!
